My Self-Summary

I hate typing self-summaries. Maybe if I type mine in third person it won't be so bad...

Hatepirate hates typing self-summaries. He likes to laugh, and make people laugh. He has an appreciation for clever sarcasm and dark comedy (like George Carlin & Bill Hicks).

Hatepirate is not a religious man. He was born and raised in a pretty strict Christian household, but left all that once he reached adulthood. He gets along with his family just fine, and is generally cool and tolerant with whatever people believe. But if you're a fundie who tries to straighten gay people and enjoys Harry Potter book-burnings, things probably won't work out.

He would like to travel the world someday, and maybe even settle down in a place like Sweden, where he's just a train ride away from Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris, Madrid, London, Athens, etc. He is fascinated with Europe.

Hatepirate is generally pretty laid back about life. He sees life as a ride, and would rather enjoy it along the way than focus on getting to the end.

What I’m doing with my life

Right now I co-own and co-manage a sign company. Frankly, I'm burned out on it. We're getting ready to change our market niche so that might liven things up a bit. Plus I'm in the process of starting another business of my own online.
I used to work myself to death, and still do occasionally, but I've relaxed alot. Like I said, I'm getting burned out on the industry and now I've become more focused on making my work enjoyable and entertaining.

In the long term I have a passion for videography and video editing. I'd like to finish my Bachelor's in media production and start my own production company shooting documentaries, weddings, events, anything like that.

I’m really good at

I'm a decent graphic designer (have to be for my job). I'm good at working with computers in electronics. I play alot of video games. Yeah, I'm a geek.
I'm also good at debating, and resolving conflicts. I'm a decent writer.
I'm not good at remembering and listing everything I'm really good at.

The first things people usually notice about me

My socks. I wear long socks with shorts. Some people see it as me being punk/rebellious and others see it as me being geeky. It's actually me being lazy. I bought some new socks and wasn't paying attention and got a few bags of the long-ass ones. I just shrugged and wore them anyway because I didn't care enough to take them back and exchange them.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I have many favorites in each of these categories so I'll just go with 4 samples from each to give you a general idea.

Books: Brave New World - Aldous Huxley; 1984 - George Orwell; The God Delusion - Richard Dawkins; A Brief History of Time - Stephen Hawking

Movies: Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction, The Godfather, Shawshank Redemption

Music: System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, Sublime, Bloodhound Gang

Food: What tastes good to me depends entirely on what I'm hungry for; one day I could be starving for Chinese or Italian, another day they'd be the last thing I'd want to eat.

The six things I could never do without

Aside from essentials for living (food, water, shelter)... Actually, I hate this question. I'm sorry, but I like to think of myself as a strong enough person that even if everything I had were taken away from me, I would still be able to carry on. I mean there are things I really like (car, cell phone, internet, etc.) but I wouldn't say I could "never do without" them.
Next.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Everything. Work, philosophy, politics, religion. I've got to watch myself, because I could literally just sit or lay down comfortably and waste hours just thinking about random things.

On a typical Friday night I am

Doing the same thing I do every night. Trying to take over the world.
