I'm a musician, and I'd say that pretty much influences a lot of how I live my life -- I travel a lot, my time is oriented around performances and music projects, and I thrive on things that inspire me.

but part of the reason I'm on this site is I really like meeting people outside of music and feeding the other sides of myself. Music starts to lose its meaning when it's self-referential, so I really look for opportunities to take in other arts, do stuff outdoors, or just hang out with someone outside of the bubble that I'm in.

I was born in Brooklyn, raised in NJ, left for a while to live and study in the mid-west, came back east 11 years ago, and recently moved from Manhattan out to Brooklyn, coming full circle. still nursing dreams of moving to the Italian coast, or India, or Rio...

making music. I play guitar -- classical, experimental, rock, jazz... -- but I also am involved with recording a lot, I run a small indie label, and when I can carve out some time, I write my own music. It's a great way to live and a fairly stupid way to make a living, but I'm actually doing both pretty well, so no complaints.

honesty, seeing all sides of a situation, focusing on one side of a situation, adapting, navigating new transit systems

I'm really not sure...I know that I usually notice the first thing people notice about me, and it always tells me a lot about them. So maybe they are noticing me noticing things about them.

Music is hard for me to narrow down... spend a lot of time with Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Coltrane, Zeppelin, Ali Akbar Khan, Paul Simon, Miles Davis, Bill Frisell, but I keep it pretty broad based, so I enjoy more current bands, lots of jazz and world artists, and basically stay open to being surprised by live music in any context
food: baklava. I love the stuff. Also Indian, Japanese, and Thai cuisine.
