I am unclouded, authentic, and gregarious.

My Self-Summary

I'd like to take a step away from the complexity of the dating scene and revert to a time when cold winter nights ended with hot chocolate, and water sports involved a pool. Yes, I propose we relive middle school, only minus the awkwardness and acne.

I'm looking to make significant, long-lasting connections with quality people. So if you enjoy watching movies, walking aimlessly around Manhattan, dancing, intellectual conversations at cafes, karaoke, and take pleasure in living life, then I highly encourage you to read on.

Update: I'm seeing someone--yes, this site works! And as much as I am flattered by all these woos, I'd like to keep things platonic.

Now in Spanish
¡Ciao!

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently working in the field of clinical research--prostate cancer to be specific. Yes, I realize the pseudo-irony in being a gay man and studying prostates. Hardy har har.

I'm attending medical school in 2010. I've spent most of August/September writing crazy essays for applications that require a lot of soul searching, and am now interviewing at various schools across the country while working full-time. I need a drinking/gym buddy STAT.

I’m really good at

Wii tennis. But I kind of get too into the game and end up hurting other people while ferociously sweating.

Cleaning. Don't be a racist.

I'm also good at rearranging letters in words into other words. For example, my full name rearranged is Fat Brain Ray.

The first things people usually notice about me

I would say smile followed by eyes. Oral hygiene is very important to me. Ocular hygiene sounds painful. Besides, I like to smile, smiling's my favorite.

Oh, people are always surprised at when I stand up. Apparently I have a long upper torso and look taller than I actually am when sitting.

Also, my eyebrows do about 85% of the talking.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Anything by Khaled Hosseini or Mitch Albom. I'm trying to get through Predictably Irrational.

Movies: Spanglish, Elf, Todo Sobre Mi Madre, Milk, Forrest Gump, Up, Amores Perros

Music: Death Cab, The Killers, All-American Rejects, Michael Buble, Jason Mraz, Kanye West, Nada Surf, Panic! At the Disco, Bloc Party, Josh Groban, Coldplay, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Strokes, CAKE

Food: I like lots of foods, so I guess I can list what foods I don't like. Spicy foods! And I don't mean spicy as containing spice. I mean spicy as in hot. I know, I'm a terrible Latino, but I'd rather enjoy my food without incurring any sort of tissue damage. Besides Puerto Rican food is pretty sweet compared to that of other Latin countries. You might say I'm a sweet guy by heritage :)

The six things I could never do without

In no particular order:
Coffee, hair product, genuine hugs, the beach, mouthwash, laughter

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Everything. I spend about half of my work day on Wikipedia. Recent topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the difference between sweet potatoes and yams (yams actually have a higher sugar content), and pirate jargon.

On a typical Friday night I am

Keeping Goingoingone out of trouble.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I didn't like Rent. There, I said it.

Also, I never rate anyone with less than 2 stars on QuickMatch. I'd feel bad giving a 1 star rating.

You should message me if

a) You recognized any movie quotes spread throughout my profile
b) You think I'm cool
