Well, I'll start off by saying "hello" to everyone reading this. Hi, and welcome to my self summary, haha.

Update: I am currently seeing a VERY awesome guy who I actually met on okcupid. :) (Go figure, these online dating things actually do work sometimes.) In any case, I'm only on for friends now, so please don't write me asking for a date, k?

So who am I? Well, I'm a pretty laid-back, down-to-earth person. I enjoy reading, writing, playing with my two dogs and two cats, hanging out with friends and family, playing board games, party games, video games, and the random games my brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law make up on their free time. I really enjoy children and a child's personality...sometimes they crack me up and sometimes I'm just amazed at how intelligent, full of wisdom, and perceptive they are for their young ages. I'm also big on conversation in itself, though I hate to get in heated, verbally-violent arguments. I simply enjoy hearing other opinions, people's personal stories, and sharing my feelings, thoughts, stories, etc. I especially love making people laugh.

As for more active pursuits, I'm big on the outdoors. I grew up in a house surrounded by woods, and spent most of my youth building forts, climbing trees, hiking, dragging turtles, salamanders, and other creatures I found into the house, and scaring my brother with snakes and spiders! I also loved, and still love, the beach. For me, it's not about sun-bathing, but more the sound of the ocean, playing in the waves, and the marine ecosystem. Aquariums are definetly awesome, though I haven't been to one in quite some time.

Otherwise, I love roller coasters, spending way too much time in bookstores, taking naps, eating delicious food, flowers (but especially daffodils!), going on day trips, delving into my spirituality (though this is more of a personal thing rather than a church-going thing with me), learning new things, watching movies of most genres, listening to music (again, I'm pretty open here), and one day, when I have more money, I can probably add travelling here too. :)

Right now, I've got a part-time customer service job...I'm still looking for that "perfect job," but I'll settle for enjoying the work I'm doing :) My dream job would be writing professionally (probably children's fiction), not just as a hobby as I'm doing now.

Update: I've decided to try out being a teacher at a Montessori school. My best friend does this, and I think the job might suit me. Who knows, it might be a great match, but I think experience will make the difference.

writing, reading, making friends with animals (specializing in cats and dogs), correcting English grammar (I'm not trying to make you feel stupid, I just write and read a lot so the "correct way" gets stuck in my head), getting along with people, telling stupid jokes, sleeping, determining if food tastes good (I have a better than average sense of smell), appreciating simple things...I think I'm also pretty good at trying new things. I still need to try out surfing, parasailing, parachuting, travelling cross-country...and the list goes on!

is my smile :) Besides my wisdom teeth, I'm not missing any teeth nor do I have rotting, stinky breath (a Ren and Stimpy episode comes to mind here). I suppose that's why my smile is positively noticeable.

Well, I started writing this section, and realized it was pretty boring to read. The thing is, I like so MANY things that it just becomes a list. I'll just put a few things down here, just for the heck of it.

Food: I love Thai food, specifically curry. But my favorite food is macaroni and cheese...I could eat it every day! Generally, I tell people the foods I DON'T like (most everything else tastes good to me!). These would include raw green bell peppers, scallops, and liver.

Music: I've studied Japanese culture for a while now, and I got used to the music...J-pop to traditional, I just love the sound of the language. I actually like "oldies" music quite a bit. (Perhaps my parents constantly playing the stuff when I was young got me to enjoy it, who knows?)

Movies: The last movie I saw was the new Batman movie, "The Dark Knight" which was really great. I'm a big Monty Python fan...I've seen "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" more times than any other movie, though "Fight Club" comes close.

Books: Don't get me started; I'd read the shampoo bottle if you took away my books! I particularly like science fiction/fantasy, manga, The Bible(duh), and for non-fiction...anything related to my interests, I suppose. :) Some subjects I've delved into: philosophy, history, religion, cooking, sexuality, gender identity, science fiction, biology, fantasy, feminism, classical literature, modern literature, psychology, and self-help books (yes, they can be read for pleasure!)

TV (why are we not asked about this?): I enjoy House, still watch Seinfeld re-runs, and really like Dancing with the Stars. What can I say? I can't dance so well but I think ballroom looks awesome.

4. Books (I kinda have a library ^_^)
5. A toothbrush (I hate that feeling in the morning that your teeth are wearing tartar sweaters!)
6. Naps...a good nap always makes me feel more energized!

I think about crazy crap...people tell me not to spend so much time in my head, because I get too enraptured with ideas and "what if" scenarios. I guess I read too much or something, haha. I try to hang out with people who can put up with my chatter and questions and jokes and begging for their personal, humorous stories. :)

But, to be specific and more fun, I'll jot down some of the crazier ideas I've had...

What will happen to dental hygiene when/if the world ends? All our teeth will fall out! I need to find something that will survive the apocalypse that ensures my teeth will stay healthy...

What's the most creative way to call out of work (when you're really not sick)? Just about everyone has called out sometime in their careers (even if it was way back when you were fourteen and at a crappy summer job). I like to collect stories on the excuses people have come up with for getting out of work.

Now this one is actually serious:
I completely don't understand why people cheat on their partners in their romantic relationships. If you don't like the person you're with, then just end the relationship! I've been cheated on myself and so can say, through personal experience, that sort of behavior is one of the most disgusting ways to treat someone. I haven't cheated on anyone myself and I never intend to...this is one thing I'm extremely committed about.

Probably working...blehhhh. If I actually get the night off, I'm dorking out with a book, my friends on the phone or at one of our local cheap restaurants, or even *gasp* seeing my parents. Hey, my parents are pretty cool and we make each other laugh! Go and call your mother!! Haha.

I'll probably never stop playing video games!

I also get lost really easy. It's so embarrassing and I hate it, so I'm considering buying one of those GPS things you put in your car that tells you where to go.

I'm very jealous of other people's toes because I don't like mine that much. Mine are kind of short and plump, and I've always wanted long and slender toes. I don't understand why I got these toes because I'm tall and have big feet...but I got them anyway! So if you meet me and happen to see my toes for some reason, please don't call them ugly!! hahah.
