I was born and grew up in Washington, DC and have just moved back to the area after being away for college in Pennsylvania and then two years teaching, first in Rhode Island and then in Delaware. I am excited to return to my home town, although I have to say it's strange to know the place to which I am moving!

I am friendly and think smiling and laughing as much as possible is important. I love exploring new places and ideas, traveling, reading, writing, and talking with people, especially when they make me think about things in a different way. I love spending time outside, going for walks, and visiting new places.

I'm a teacher and love it, although I'm not sure it's what I plan to do for my whole life. I love writing and hope to have it always as part of what I do.

You know, otherwise, spending time with friends and family, practicing yoga, reading books, learning to cook, enjoying life.

Shows: Football: I am, as a DC native, at heart a Redskins fan, but I also root avidly for the Patriots. I know...it's not right. But I can't help it.

Music: Anything! I grew up listening to country. I also like most bad pop music (because it is bad pop music...). I love listening to the radio, particularly in the car or on headphones in the dark.

Food: fried rice, icecream, fruit of any sort.
