I'm me and that's that. Being me involves being weird. And I like it. A lot.

It usually involves thinking a lot. I spend way too much time thinking about either fundamental physics (as in particle physics), and when it's not about that, I'm thinking about religion and theology, which I find completely fascinating although I'm the biggest atheist around. I have also a strong interest in evolutionary biology (it's the countless evolution vs. ID/Creationism that lead to my dabbling with theology).

Other than these "deep" questions about life and the universe, I also spent quite some time simply enjoying things without thinking of them too much, some "crude" (making fart jokes while playing poker with friends), some "refined" (wine & cheese with some Debussy, Bach, Mahler, in the background). I usually end up analyzing these things anyway, but on my own time rather than when stuff is happening.

Currently taking my Master's Degree in Physics at Université de Moncton. Other then paying the bills and breathing and eating, I used to play several instruments (alto wooden flute, piano, trombone, guitar), but I sorta stopped in the last few years. I would like to play trombone again, although I might try the French horn (sounds way cooler, and I just love war music), or the concert flute.

Watching movies is also another very excellent way to kill time (I'm a really, REALLY, big movie whore). I also like to go camping/hiking trips with friends, and I generally enjoy anything that involves a bunch of friends (and if there's beer and food, even better!).

Being me. I don't think anyone is better than me at that.

To be honest there's a bunch of things I think I'm good at, but I hate saying "Well I'm really good at this" because it sounds like I'm bragging and I hate bragging and braggers. If you're good at something, others will naturally notice it. But of course this is the internet and you don't know me, so if you are interested in knowing what I'm good at, drop me a line and we'll talk.

Ask them, 'cause I really haven't a clue.

On a somewhat related note, I can't find a flaw in myself. Not because I'm an arrogant douche that thinks he's perfect, but because I just don't know what should be considered a flaw. For example, I have a reputation of not being someone who backs down easily. Is this a flaw? Well I don't know. On one hand you can see this as being pushy, rude, unwilling to compromise, etc... On the other hand you can see this as being principled and being unwilling to yield to nonsense. So you tell me.

I can describe my personality and my quirks pretty accurately, and I can tell you what I particularly like in myself. However, I can't really assess what sucks about me, because if I thought some part of my personality sucked, I would've changed it into something I liked instead. So basically I'm pretty comfortable and happy with myself overall.

A) I don't read as much as I used to since I'd rather watch a movie than read. But of the books I did read, I always enjoyed anything by Robert Ludlum (he's the guy that wrote the Bourne Identity and all that stuff if you don't know him). I also enjoy reading about Richard Feynman, and modern physics in general. I got the Zombie Survival Guide, which is pretty awesome.

I spend a lot of time reading (and editing) random stuff on Wikipedia. Most of what I read aren't books, but rather essays, articles, rants, debates, etc...

B) Movies. Aaaahhh now we're talking. I'll try to keep this list at a reasonable length but I can't promise anything since movies are so awesome. I don't really know which is my favourite of all time, but my tops movies involve (in no particular order):

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly; For a Few Dollars More; Pulp Fiction; From Dusk till Dawn; Dawn of the Dead (remake); Edward Scissorhands; Wayne's World; The Godfather; The Usual Suspects; Monty Python and the Holy Grail; Forrest Gump; Snatch; Die Hard ; Leon (The Professional), Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Dark Knight, Good Fellas,...

C) Music... another thing I have a sizable amount of interest for (yes this sentence ends with a preposition, sue me). I'm a big fan of classic rock and heavy metal, but while these two are my main genres, I do listen to pretty much everything. Save country that is, but that's kinda of implicit :P. The bands that end on my playlist most often are Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabbath, Ayreon, Metallica, Godsmack, Pink Floyd, System of a Down, Iron Maiden, The Who, No Doubt, Aerosmith, Guns'n Roses, The Doors, Queen, Jean Leloup, Korn, Megadeth, Christina Aguillera (OMG POP!!), Jay-Z (OMG RAP!), AFI (OMG EMO/TEEN ANGST!), Bach (OMG CLASSICAL!), Red Hot Chili Peppers, Disturbed, Extreme, Alice Cooper, Daft Punk (OMG TECHNO!), The Ramones, Chemical Brothers (OMG MORE TECHNO!), Offenbach... the list goes on.

And I got a special kinda love for anything by Gustav Mahler. If you don't like Mahler's stuff, you're a horrible human being that deserves to be locked up in a room where the Best of Céline Dion plays in a continuous loop.

6) Money, but only because I like paying my bills on time and I'd rather avoid prison ya know. Plus I ran out of things that I couldn't do without. Well save food and air, but that's boring and everyone needs that.

Future in general. I think I want to write books. Possibly go in nuclear physics. Maybe become a technical editor.

I also keep a mental checklist of songs that are perfect for bedroom moments of various kinds. :P

If I'm out, it's usually with friends at some place (restaurants, movies, bowling, bars...) and if I'm home I'm usually browsing the intertubes or watching a movie. Or playing guitar or listening to some music. Or playing guitar hero with my roommates. Or...

Well I don't really have to anything to "admit", or at least I can't think of anything that would qualify.

I thought of something: I absolutely love thunderstorms. I think they are the hottest shit ever (in both "coolness" and "sexualness"). I often spend the whole storm looking out the window, and the louder the bangs and flashier the flashes, the giddier I get. A shame we don't have more of them around here :(.

I also thought of something else I could add, but nothing I'd care to place here for the general population to see. Ask and ye shall receive, unless I think you're the kind of person who would easily be offended.
