My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I want a girl with a mind like a diamond.

I'm going to school (again!) learning kind of boring things that I'm good at (finance, accounting, management) that will hopefully let me make enough money that I can keep doing the things I love. I'm also working as a high school tutor, which has been shockingly rewarding for me.

I'm creative, educated, analytical, funny and sweet in an off-color sort of way. I think way too much and often need to say what I'm thinking just so I can see how other people respond to it, but I'm also open-minded and good listener.

Textbook Enneagram Type 5. INTP, but very socially functional.

I'm a nerd levels beyond many nerds, I have picked my areas of expertise and I focus on them to near exclusion, but I'm interested in doing other things, I'm just too shy to do them alone. I could probably use more friends with more varied interests, and that could be you, I'm very good to my friends.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to find a way to make a path out of the silly-walk I've gotten myself stuck in.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Speaking my heart. Making words do what I want them to. Manipulating symbols. Pontificating. Listening. Hugs.

As a storyteller, I love seeing characters suffer, because suffering within a story has meaning, and I adore meaning and abhor flat or empty narrative. To suffer and grow through your suffering is the most human thing that anyone can experience or portray, I think. Anything which explores this theme intelligently is likely to get my attention and be something I appreciate.

Books: The Necronomicon, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, William Gibson, Neal Stephenson, Peter F. Hamilton, H.P. Lovecraft, Tanith Lee, George R.R. Martin, J. R. R. Tolkien, China Mieville, Tim Powers.

Movies: Fight Club, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Studio Ghibli, Studio Khara, Mirrormask, Iron Man, The Forbidden Kingdom, Hero, The Fall, Persepolis. I don't see movies alone, so I don't see a lot of movies. I also watch anime like some people termed 'snobs' drink wine, but I'm not interested in forcing someone who's not interested in watching something, I tie too much of my personal value into my ability to make good recommendations.

Music: I hate being asked about what music I like, there's no right answer other than what they like, but there's very little music I dislike. Recently I've been listening to a lot of classic rock, but I really do love most of it, I just don't know the proper words for describing it all.

Food: I'm a big fan of most Asian cuisines, less so European and American with the exception of Italian and some German and Scandinavian. African is usually strange to my tastes but good. I'm not picky, I'll try anything.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I could get by without a lot of things. I could probably get by without these things too, but I'd be really annoyed.

A way of recording ideas.
Someone to bounce said ideas off of.
A medium through which to experience others' ideas and creativity.
Comfortable, warm sleep.
Warm water.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Theoretical solutions to the world's problems (none yet that are realistic, ethical or likely to be popular). Stories (I write). My students (What's the right way to explain...?). How much I can relate my experience to everyone else (I think I'm 2 standard deviations from the average American). How to say what I'm thinking in the fewest, best words.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Everyone puts the sexy juicy bits in this section.

I'm a recovering escapist.

I guess that's not that juicy.

I know six different words for 'sword' in Japanese.

That's mostly just nerdy, hmm, juicy, juicy... oh!

I'm a dom.
