My self-summary
A city girl at heart with a spiritual and capricious mindset.

Rock music is my proverbial boyfriend.
Experimental music is my proverbial girlfriend.

In terms of personality, I'm more Wooster than Jeeves, more Jane than Daria but a bit more Scratchy than Itchy.

My demeanour can be likened to either a 2/4 time drum beat or a Battles track. That means I like idiosyncrasies and things that just don't quite make sense.

I'm on this website looking for friends, mostly. The type of people that I'm drawn to are talkative, sweet, rambunctious types who enjoy food and music and live thier lives as if they've just had an epiphany.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a Ukulele playing, B-movie loving, music appreciating lass who is currently saving up for travelling. That isn't meant to read as "unemployed bum". I work part time in a festival bar and for the Royal Palaces for now.
I’m really good at
Laughing at nothing.
Daydreaming.
Remembering the name of that film, actor or actress.
Finishing my plate last.
Reading emotions.
Getting excited about simple things.
Sipping whisky.
Dancing with a man. I can't dance generally but give me a guy and that changes.
Forgetting what I did 10 seconds ago.
Eye contact.
Finding the funny/bright side of awkward situations.
The first things people usually notice about me
is that I look nothing like Ryan Gosling....or Dan Ackroyd.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Moby Dick, Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, Catcher in the Rye, Robinson Crusoe, Hergé. I love adventure and sailing in books and tend to read a lot of 17th-19th Century stuff.

Used to be completely immersed in Tim and Eric and even went to see them live. Nowadays, it's more Human Giant, Green Wing, Jeeves and Wooster (proud box set owner...awh yeah) and catching up on my 90s childhood television; which includes the revival of Are You Afraid of the Dark. Yes, I am this eccentric guys...come get me.

Comedy floats my boat. It floats it very well. The Jerk, Trading Places, Vampire's Kiss, Rushmore, Withnail and I, Big Lebowski, Raising Arizona, Some Like It Hot, the original Freaky Friday and Nutty Professor (Jerry Lewis = genius) among other classics. Also, Full Metal Jacket, Brick and anything with Nicolas Cage in. I have a strong attraction to those horrible B-movies on Syfy. Oh and before I forget. Four words: Ter. Min. At. Or. I cried a little bit when Reese died.

Small summary of artists I like: Battles, Four Tet, Toro Y Moi, The Mae Shi, Health, The Chapman Family, Max Tundra, Erykah Badu, Jamie Lidell, The Walkmen, Fela Kuti, Tyondai Braxton, DJ Rashad, Onra, Scuba, Dorian Concept, Orbital, Objekt, Nosaj Thing, Young Fathers, Baths, Micachu, Everything Everything, The Invisible...

I try to cook decent meals, so I love a wide variety of ingredients and styles. I love all kinds of food and dislike very few but it seems that vegetarian and vegan food interests me a lot more nowadays, as there's so much to do with vegetables. When meat is involved, it's good local butcher-type meat or nothing. Make sense? It should.
The six things I could never do without
Family.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What my mortal existence on this planet means and other odd collections of stories.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually wandering about discovering new places to eat or staying in to cook and hang out with family or friends. Searching for the perfect cup of मसाला चाय. Planning my food tour of Spain, a la Rick Stein. RIP Chalkey. Damn it, you were like a human.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I was on Richard and Judy once.

I also wanted (read: still want) to change my last name to Murphy so I can be like the female black Robocop...or something like that. Can you imagine the stereotype!? Clearly hilarious.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 23–36
  • Located anywhere
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
you're funny, creative and passionate and not adverse to actually meeting in person.
