My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi. I'm Nick. Possibly that was guessable from the profile name.

This is my website: That, too, may have been guessable from the name.

I'm an actor person. And a writer one. The second season of a show I'm on just came out. Thanks largely to the efforts of other, very funny, people it turned out pretty well. It's here, if you're curious:

My staff robot profile and it informs me that I am apparently impossibly arrogant. In my defense a) the robot obviously has no idea what he is talking about... possibly he is a peasant. B) Did I mention that I have a website named for myself?

Touche, staff robot, touche.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Writing things; making funny voices for car commercials; learning long words.

I just took a semester away from a fiction program at Columbia to shoot a TV show out in LA. It's called QuickDraw. I play a deputy. You can watch it here: The second season comes out on August 7th. I took a second semester away to shoot the second season. I am officially a dropout now.

Also: Working on a novel, a screenplay, and a couple plays... and some short stories.

Also also: stalling completely on all of the above by writing a blog about the little nothings I am doing each day... except, not really each day. More like a couple days every few months... which have become every six months because it turns out that I am trying to finish this goddam novel, which is ruining me. It's here:

I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably that I just said something heinously offensive, though probably well intentioned.

Aleksander Hemon, Amy Hempel, Jonathan Franzen, Kurt Vonnegut, Norman Rush, Hemmingway, Nabokov, Faulkner, Tolstoy. I also really love Ian Frazier and David McCullough.

'Gilead,' by Marilynne Robinson. Read Jonathan Haidt's 'The Righteous Mind' and adored it. Also enjoying snippets of the 'The Onion Book of Known Knowledge.' And The Far Side Galleries.

Other recent stuff I really liked: Middlesex, Kavalier and Clay, Devil in the White City, Nowhere Man, The Brooklyn Bridge, and Netherland.

Also, there's no space for magazines in this prompt, but let's be honest: the New Yorker is pretty much the cat's pajamas, reading wise.

Tom Waits, Counting Crows, Big Smith, Kacey Musgraves, Elvis, Beatles, Phillip Glass, Daftpunk, karaoke, anything live.

Top 3: Shakespeare in Love, In Bruges, That Thing You Do

Other stuff...
shows, music, and food are also cool.

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What persuades people. Whether there is any way to slow or halt global warming. Stuff that's similar to this stuff:

But now I'm older. So it's probably somewhat different.

Getting masked up on the way to the orgy... Alright, fine: Beer alone in a dive bar.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This question seems definitionally problematic. Private is kind of a binary state. If it's 'private' then I wouldn't be willing to admit it. On the theory that they are going for 'dirty' though: I have a pretty much impossible sex drive... But that may not be so much 'private/dirty' as merely 'male.'

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
Let's be honest, you probably won't... That's not a challenge, just, you know, statistically, it's somewhat unlikely. Women don't message men as much.

Still, here's my dream date: genuinely funny, freakishly brilliant, interested in everything, model-hot, and sexually hyperactive. I've fallen in love three times. One of those could have worked, but I kind of fucked it up. If I find you interesting and attractive and funny, we're good. Especially if you find me those things too. Otherwise, we might be friends. Or casual lovers. Or nemesis. Or just people who once had beer together.

But, most importantly, someone who is a full person. If you don't care about politics, we're probably not meant for each other. Same with literature. Same with economics and movies and dance... Though if you're both attractive and fun, we can skip the whole 'life together' thing and just maybe date for a while.

Also: if you grew up as a third-culture kid. Or if you are from Westchester county we'll probably get along. I don't know why (I've never lived in Westchester), but that seems to be my demo.

Or Laila Garrety. Somehow my crush on her got stronger in the second season when she became even more unbearable.
