My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi. I'm Nick. Possibly that was guessable from the profile name.

This is my website: That, too, may have been guessable from the name.

I'm an actor person. And a writer one. The second season of a show I'm on just came out. Thanks largely to the efforts of other, very funny, people it turned out pretty well. It's here, if you're curious:

My staff robot profile and it informs me that I am apparently impossibly arrogant. In my defense a) the robot obviously has no idea what he is talking about... possibly he is a peasant. B) Did I mention that I have a website named for myself?

Touche, staff robot, touche.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Writing things; making funny voices for car commercials; learning long words.

I dropped out of the fiction program at Columbia in order to shoot a TV show out in LA. Then I went back to Columbia for another semester. Then I dropped out again to shoot the second season. The point though is that I am a two-time school dropout at this point. Someone give me a motorcycle.

Also: just finished a novel. But not really. Since there's redrafting involved and I don't have a publisher or anything. So instead I just finished a bunch of words that may someday be a novel.

The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably that I just said something heinously offensive, though probably well intentioned.

Aleksander Hemon, Amy Hempel, Marilynne Robinson, Jonathan Franzen, Kurt Vonnegut, Norman Rush, Hemmingway, Nabokov, Faulkner, Tolstoy. I also really love Ian Frazier and David McCullough on the non-fiction front.

'Gilead,' by Marilynne Robinson. Read Jonathan Haidt's 'The Righteous Mind' and adored it. Also enjoying snippets of the 'The Onion Book of Known Knowledge.' And The Far Side Galleries.

Other recent stuff I really liked: Middlesex, Kavalier and Clay, Devil in the White City, Nowhere Man, The Brooklyn Bridge, and Netherland.

Also, there's no space for magazines in this prompt, but let's be honest: the New Yorker is pretty much the cat's pajamas, reading wise.

Tom Waits, Frank Turner, Counting Crows, Big Smith, Kacey Musgraves, Elvis, Beatles, Phillip Glass, Daftpunk, karaoke, anything live. Also: really liking various folk singers right now.

Top 3: Shakespeare in Love, In Bruges, That Thing You Do

Other stuff...
shows, music, and food are also cool.

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What persuades people. Whether there is any way to slow or halt global warming. Stuff that's similar to this stuff:

But now I'm older. So it's probably somewhat different.

Getting masked up on the way to the orgy... Alright, fine: Beer alone in a dive bar.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This question seems definitionally problematic. Private is kind of a binary state. If it's 'private' then I wouldn't be willing to admit it. On the theory that they are going for 'dirty' though: I have a pretty much impossible sex drive... But that may not be so much 'private/dirty' as merely 'male.'

We have similar bone structures or compatible pheromones. But the pheromones are gonna be tricky to determine by internet.

Actually: the books. If we have the same books and we're mutually attracted, then I'm in for a beer at the least.

It turns out that I was about to sign off of this site altogether and then I met someone I was genuinely interested in and then that didn't work out, but now I'm trying once more.

Anyway: the whole 'what I'm looking for' thing is a touch deceiving. I really like most people, but theoretically I'm looking for a long-term relationship. If we have great sex, but don't get along, well: there's the casual sex bubble. If we get along but don't have great sex: new friends. The short-term dating one is just for misfires. Then the long-term is the goal. This paragraph may be true of almost every human being who ever lived. But I figure it can't hurt to state it aloud. (Or in text.)
