I am honest, romantic, and a good cook.
My Self-Summary
Hi. I'm Adam. I'm not really good at talking about myself.
Well, I'm not really good at talking, period. I'll do my best to
let you know what I'm like in this little box, but I'm not
promising anything. Somehow I doubt that a person's personality can
come through in this format, with no inflection and everything is
interpreted according to the mood of the person reading it.
I suppose I'll just have to list some things about myself and hope
for the best.
I love to cook, and I hope to be a chef someday. I really want to
own my own restaurant eventually. I also love to work with
computers, I
take them apart, put them together, and figure out how to fix odd
problems. It's a gift. People tell me that I'm a good listener, and
I suppose I am. Not being able to listen to myself it's a little
hard to judge. I love the
outdoors, but I also love to stay in. I
like
exploring,
and lounging. I guess you could say I'm a bit of a paradox. I'm
more than a bit of a nerd, and I have the comic collection to prove
it. At heart I am a total romantic, and I'd rather have a quiet,
home cooked candlelit dinner at home than to go to a fancy
restaurant. I prefer to have a small group of close friends than a
large group of casual acquaintances. I can be shy at times, but
most of the time I just need someone to give me a little push.
Hopefully you can be that person.
What I’m doing with my life
I've been working for the family business for a little while now,
but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. So now I'm looking for a
real job and it sucks. Hopefully once I find something I can start
saving money, since I'm eventually I'm hoping to go to
culinary school.
Having my own restaurant is the eventual dream.
I’m really good at
A lot of things. Seriously, I'm good at most things I try, except
playing guitar. I suck at that.
The first things people usually notice about me
Seriously, no idea. Back when my hair was down to the middle of my
back that was the obvious answer, but I shaved it all off. Maybe I
should ask someone. I'll get back to you on that.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I just got my library card back, so I've actually been reading
again! (it's exciting to me, shut up)
Currently I have The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy to
finish, along with a copy of one of my favorite stories ever,
John Dies
at the End. I've read quite a bit of
Stephen King and
Neil Gaiman, and I used to be
really into random fantasy novels when I was younger. Don't really
have any idea what to read now though. Maybe someone out there has
a suggestion for me. That would rock.
When it comes to movies I'm pretty much open to anything, some of
my favorites being
Chasing Amy,
Mirrormask,
The Notebook,
Labyrinth and
Clerks. That isn't really in any
particular order, and I am into other genres too, those are just
the ones that come to mind right now.
I can't really pick out one genre of music as my favorite, though I
would say my three favorite bands are
311,
Something Corporate and
Sublime. That
doesn't really help with my interests that much, because they can
go anywhere from metal to piano rock in an instant. I'm not really
all that hip on this new indie rock scene, but as I said my
interests go every direction at once so if you recommend it, I'll
at least give it a listen. I've been wanting to listen to something
new lately.
I suppose with food I should just say that the only things I don't
like are nuts, kiwi, canned tuna and creamed corn. I can't really
think of anything else I don't like. Huh.
The six things I could never do without
I really have no idea, I'm not a very materialistic person. I can
make do with running water, something to cook on and some music to
listen to. Not that I would want to do that, but, you know, just
sayin'.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The menu for my dream restaurant.
Women, and if I'll ever find the one for me.
If I'll ever be financially stable enough to go back to school.
On a typical Friday night I am
Well, nowadays I spend most of my Friday nights at the Elburn Lions
club, using a bottle of green ink to mark numbered squares on a
card as they are called out by some old guy by the restroom. Ah,
Bingo.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I've only been in three actual relationships. One may not count
because it was short, but I count it anyway, because it meant
something to me. Other than that, I haven't really been involved
with anyone.
You should message me if
You like what you read... seriously, it's as simple as that. If I
sound at all interesting to you, send me a message. Who knows, I
might seem even more interesting in person.
