I am optimistic, agreeable, and impulsive.

My Self-Summary

i like: books on tape, reading the missed connections, roller derby, bike riding, people watching, drawing comics, trying to write music, kisses, coffee, the zodiac, watching pbs, sleeping, bowling, playing spit/speed, walking around, daydreaming, crochet, screen printing, typography, fancy dress parties, graffiti, stencils, flirting, glitter, things that are purple, expanding my vinyl collection, mix tapes, marching bands, circuit bending, lucid dreams, waffle house, dumplings, the pen isle at any store.

a little more about what i'm looking for:
at the moment i'm not really interested in dating men. don't worry, i don't hate the man-folk. if you want to be pals i am totally down for that. i'm just feeling the lady vibe right now. i've never done much more than kiss a girl and i feel like its about time that i accept that part of myself and explore it. but i'm also always down for a good conversation about gender and its lack of relevance when it comes to dating.

What I’m doing with my life

Learning about color theory, html and page layout at MATC. And working at a bio-tech company.
In a band. I think its country. Or it could be punk. We haven't decided yet.
I love and take care of an amazing cat. She is the best.
I've been in Madison for about five or so years. I'm originally from the East Coast and definitely see myself going back there after I graduate. Its not that I hate Madison. Madison has some awesome things going. I just also wanna live other places too. I feel like this is a great place to "end up". But I'm feeling like Rhode Island or Massachusetts is going to suit me more right now. So I'm looking at that as an option in a year or so.
I recently dyed my hair back to my natural color. I also took out my lip ring. I've had that thing since I was 18. Feels a little weird to not have it in. But I think I look nicer now.
I'm also working on a huge chest piece. Its of two quetzals. Guatemala's national bird. One for my grandmother (with a monja blanca next to it) and one for my dad (with coffee beans). Its expensive and painful but I love it (Thanks Spike at Spike-o-matic... I highly recommend him).

I’m really good at

being too honest. Being funny, but only when I'm with other funny people. Matching colors. Drawing straight lines. Procrastinating.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'd like to think its my fabulous make-up and sense of style. But honestly, I think probably see the short, chubby, big boobs thing first. And then gradually realize how awesome I am at applying liquid eyeliner.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Favorite Books & Authors: why i am not a christian by bertrand russell, harry potter and the half blood prince & the deathly hallows (i can't help myself), blankets by craig thompson, clumsy by jeffrey brown, ghost world by daniel clowes, quit your job by james kolchaka, epileptic by david b, jimmy corrigan by chris ware, the griffin and sabine trilogy by nick bantock, damian by herman hesse, the stranger by albert camus, fahrenheit 451 by ray bradbury, selected poems by e.e.cummings, the lorax by dr seuss, and more art books then i could possibly recount

Favorite Music & Artists: 63 crayons, asha bhosle, apples in stereo, architecture in helsinki, bratmobile, brava spectre, beat happening, the blow, the beatles, blonde redhead, bitch and animal, built to spill, cat stevens, casper and the cookies, calvin johnson, daniel johnston, dites donc, elekibass, elf power, gillian welch, the hat company, james chance and the contortions, jason anderson, kimya dawson, kleenex/lilliput, the late b.p. helium, leslie and the ly's, le tigre, lightning bolt, marbles, melt-banana, matmos, mirah, the magnetic fields, the moldy peaches, modest mouse, of montreal, old time relijun, papa m, poison control center, prince, sebadoh, screamin' cyn cyn and the pons, stereolab, yo la tengo, yellow fever, yacht, zebras
i have a last.fm too, if you'd like to see it. i'm not going to post it because sometimes i feel weird about the internet. but yeah. just ask and i'll show you.

Food: If I believed in previous lives I'd say that in one of them I was someone from India who died of food poisoning as I absolutely love Indian cuisine but my stomach refuses to accept it. So I love curry but can't eat it no matter how many times I try. However, I do love lots of other things... like mac and cheese, sushi, the california sub from milios, anything that involves fresh mozzarella, onion bagels, cuties, guatemalan food, tacos, and quality cheese curds. I've also become a bit of a beer snob since I moved to Wisconsin. I like a lot of different kinds, but definitely my favorites are Furthermore Proper, Bell's Oberon, Capital Amber, Ale Asylum Hoppalicious. I'm not one for stouts, though they are starting to grow on me.

The six things I could never do without

Music - It seems a lot of people put this in their profiles. But I mean it. Like. Fo real.
Books on tape - Something I just started doing this past summer. Makes me time at work go by quickly and I've been getting to "read" books I've been meaning to read for years but just never had the time/chance. Right now I'm working on His Dark Materials.
Traveling - I love going places. Meeting new people. Seeing new things.
Kissing - Kissing is just plain awesome
White noise when I sleep - I always have a fan going in my room. I can't sleep without it. I get weirded out by the noises in my house/outside. So my fan lulls me to sleep.
Annie's mac and cheese - I live on it. Can not get enough of it. I usually add stuff to it. Like tonight I added mushrooms and basil. It was yummy.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

projects I'd like to work on, music, crossword puzzles (I attempt one almost every single day), roller derby, what I am going to have for dinner, line and color, problem solving, atheism, my family, homework

On a typical Friday night I am

listening to music either at home or at a venue. Doing lots of homework lately. Or at one of Madison's many fine drinking establishments.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I bite my nails. Actually. Thats not that private. After a few hours of seeing me in person, you'll find that out.

You should message me if

...you know 90% of the beatles song lyrics. (not to say that people who don't know 90% of beatles lyrics aren't cool. just that its pretty much guaranteed that they are fucking cool if they do.)

If you have passions and opinions. If you strive to be a good person. If you are an open and honest communicator. If you want a friend. If you want a pen-pal who will send you mix tapes. If you want to make out. If you like arts and crafts. If you read comic books. If you wear ties. If you want to cook me delicious foods.
