My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
You have an active mind, body and spirit, an open heart, and a love of laughter. You dream of diving with dolphins and climbing your *own* Kilimanjaro.

You live close to the edge for the quickening view, and you stay physically fit because you crave the energy to live your life to the max.

You are spontaneous, optimistic, and adventurous.

Your life is interwoven with mutually supportive friends and family. I see you in my mind's eye entering a room, radiating your inner beauty, appreciated as kind and caring, warm and witty, positive and playful.

Yet after a hard day you can let your hair down with me, and I'll cook. I'll accept you as you are, and give you the respect you deserve. Oh, you can count on me to tease, all right, but by the way I gently wrap my strong arms around you, you'll always know you're safe with me. Besides, at those times when you are your best self, you're simply dynamite.

You are smart, sometimes sassy, and clearly self-reliant; but you also enjoy being spoiled rotten on no special occasion.

You know to care for yourself first in order to have the energy to care for others.

You risk vulnerability and share your feelings to reveal your deepest self and your highest truth.

Like me, you recognize that you are here for a unique purpose. Discovering and living in alignment with that purpose is what drives you. You want a partner who is as eager to spur you on in that quest as you are to inspire him in his.

You work hard, as do I, pouring your personal energy into your profession in service of others. But you also recharge your batteries at regular intervals, and love being whisked away to places near and far.

I can see us on the Adriatic coast sharing breakfast atop our pensione as the clear morning sun reflects off the sea. In Tuscany we cycle past olive groves, villas, and vineyards on our culinary discovery tour, occasionally dismounting to swish a luscious Montepulciano and savor a succulent bounty of simmering temptations. Along the way we delight in meeting and laughing with new found friends from countries far and wide.

"The only real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes." ~Marcel Proust

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Helping people connect with each other and with the deepest part of themselves.

Rumi wrote: “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”

I help people remove those barriers, as a speaker, author, teacher, coach, or performer.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
writing songs for special occasions. I usually interview the person's partner to dig up the incriminating details, then craft all the info into a hilarious spoof that lets the honoree know how loved they are.

My positive energy; how young I look for my age.

Full disclosure: I'm actually 63. Changed my age to 58 for search purposes, so I'm telling you up front.

"Aspire" by Kevin Hall. "Songbird" by Rumi. Books by David Richo, Marianne Williamson, Marilynne Robinson, Eckhart Tolle. Foreign films at the Ritz. Music in all forms. Italian and other ethnic foods. Grilled wild salmon with oregano, lemon and honey, accompanied by a Pinot Noir and great friends.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- my kids
- staying physically fit because of the energy it gives me for everything, especially family and friends
- music and song
- engaged conversation and hearty laughter
- life-long learning
- dark chocolate with red wine
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
...how we can all lift each other higher. A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

Or as it says on a prized coffee mug a buddy of mine gave me for my last birthday, "A friend is someone who knows all about you...and likes you anyway."

Paying attention, which costs nothing and yet yields high dividends.

Growing up in Chicago, I visited Buckingham Fountain on many an occasion, fascinated by the arcs of water coiling like ropes from one level to the next, a splashing cacophony of illuminated streams, the sunlight transforming all the droplets and bubbles into prismatic microcosms, while the wind was whipping the spray against my face like thousands of tiny needles. Ahhh!
On a typical Friday night I am

...you're looking for an independent man who appreciates the unique gifts you give to the world; a man who is confident, caring, courageous, conscientious, and a cut-up. And secure enough in himself that should you ever “lose it,” you can rely on him to be present to you, ride out the storm, and marvel at all the passion you bring to life.
