My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like talking.

All kinds of talking.

I love having conversations, sitting in on discussions, hearing well thought out debates, and listening to the beautiful dialogue in movies.

I listen to podcasts all day long because I love the chemistry that hosts have with each other and their guests.

I like being a server because I get to talk with my guests, find out what they like, get them to laugh, and hopefully make their day better.

I want to be a teacher so that I can have an ongoing conversation for an entire school year with students about what knowledge I can give them to better their lives.

I am on here to find someone to talk to, someone who wants to talk to me. Someone I can talk about everything with and her with me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am in school to become a high school chemistry teacher. This semester I am working on my pre-requisites and observing at a high school. My goal is to start my masters program next fall, and start teaching the next year. When I am not studying I work in a restaurant.

I am in a group called Theoroi. It's a group of young professionals who go to performances in the Cities throughout the year (Plays, Operas, Musicals, Dance, etc.) I love theatre and really enjoy seeing it.

I am also taking improv classes in my free time. It's a great creative outlet, and I hope to one day start an improv troupe.

I volunteer with shelter dogs in my spare time. Whenever I get to go spend time with those dogs it really lightens up my world. I want to take one home with me, but can't quite manage it right now. I am also a blood donor. I give every 8 weeks, and am on track to give a gallon by early next year!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am an excellent conversationalist, and really enjoy when people open up about their passions and life. I really like this in another person. Sunday morning chats with a friend at a coffee shop are often the highlight of my week.

I'm also pretty good at running. I just bought new shoes that I think make me really fast (at the very least, they are bright yellow, and make me look fast.)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This is a difficult question, because there are many ways to answer it...

What is the first thing I hope people notice about me: My humor
What is the first thing I think people notice about me: My beard
What is the first thing I fear people notice about me: That something about my outfit clashes without me realizing it
What is the first thing people actually probably notice about me: Caucasian, Male, brown hair, mid-20's, average height, healthy weight
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Having fun isn't hard when you've got a library card! I love reading and have been reading voraciously this summer. Recently I read a bunch of Chuck Klosterman's books, "Super Sad True Love Story", and the "Ocean at the End of the Lane." I am currently reading "American Gods" and am in love with it. Next up is "The Book of Basketball" to prepare me for the upcoming NBA season. All in all I really like reading to unwind from studying. I'm also up for any recommendations you might have!

I think that "There Will Be Blood" is the best movie ever made. I love "Super Troopers", "Wayne's World 1 & 2", and Jason Segel movies. I just watched "Adventureland" and would love to discuss it with someone.

I love stand up comedy and would be stoked to talk to you about your favorite comedians.

I don't watch a lot of TV, mostly I listen to podcasts. I listen to "The Tony Kornheiser Show", "The Starters", "The Nerdist", "The B.S. Report", "This American Life" and multiple Grantland Podcasts religiously.

My favorite band of all time is "the Killers", specifically their first 3 albums. My music taste stems from "the Beatles". My current favorites are "My Morning Jacket" and "Middle Class Fashion."

I like food, I studied Food Science in college. To be honest though, the only food that I like to talk at length about is craft beer, I brewed professionally for 3 years, and love beer.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My mom and grandma
2. Music or Podcasts to listen to
3. Books
4. My roommates/our cat
5. Being outside
6. Running
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking about relationships. I really want one. I am genuinely excited to meet that woman who I really connect with and can look forward to being with.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If I could have my way, every Friday night would be spent one of two ways. Singing karaoke at the bar down the street from me, or attending a comedy show. Those two things really bring me happiness. If you are willing to do a karaoke duet with me, you have won me over.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I hate the current dating atmosphere where the person who cares less has all the power. I don't want a power dynamic in a relationship. I want us both to be excited to be with each other and be able to communicate that. I think it's silly if we connect on this site and set up a date for a week later and then don't talk until we meet up. Why can't we text or call each other and chat? If we both like basketball, it shouldn't be weird when I text you asking about the book you are reading.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You can tell me what song you bring the house down with in karaoke, or who your favorite stand up comedian is, what book you are reading, or you have a dog and want to brag about her, or...well there are a lot of reasons to message me, you probably just should.
