My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like me!

Other people like me too, but they're not writing my self-summary.

I'm the kind of guy that I would call on a Friday night to grab a drink and do karaoke with.

I'm a guy that I would take a road trip to Duluth with, and go on awesome hikes up there.

I'm the person I would call when I had a crappy day and need to talk about it.

I'm the person who would tell me that I'm being really self-involved with this self-summary (and sound like I have a split personality), but still think that it's kind of amusing, and tell me it's good.

I'm also the person who doesn't put everything about myself on my profile, I would much rather connect with you and talk about things on a personal level rather than just throw everything out there and hope something sticks.

But that's not really why either of us is here. The real question is, would you like me?

Honestly, there's really only one way to find out...
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am in school for my Masters of Education. I am going to teach high school chemistry next year, but for now being a student is my life.

I am in an improv troupe. We do performances around the Twin Cities (and sometimes other states!!!) It's a great creative outlet, and is the highlight of my week.

I volunteer with shelter dogs in my spare time. Whenever I get to go spend time with those dogs it really lightens up my world. I want to take one home with me, but can't quite manage it right now.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am an excellent conversationalist, and really enjoy when people open up about their passions and life. I really like this in another person. Sunday morning chats with a friend at a coffee shop are delightful.

I'm also pretty good at running. I am slowly working up to running a marathon. I've got a 10 K in August and a 10 Miler in October. I'm hoping to do the Get Lucky Half Marathon in March. I try to get out on good long runs 4 times a week.

I also love Cribbage. I'm pretty decent, and I love going to a bar and playing for drinks.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This is a difficult question, because there are many ways to answer it...

What is the first thing I hope people notice about me: My humor
What is the first thing I think people notice about me: My beard
What is the first thing I fear people notice about me: That something about my outfit clashes without me realizing it
What is the first thing people actually probably notice about me: Caucasian, Male, brown hair, mid-20's, average height, healthy weight
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Having fun isn't hard when you've got a library card! I love reading and have been reading voraciously this summer. I'm currently reading Popular Crime by Bill James. Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari is next up on my list. All in all I really like reading to unwind from studying. I'm also up for any recommendations you might have!

I think that "There Will Be Blood" is the best movie ever made. I love "Super Troopers", "Wayne's World 1 & 2", and Jason Segel movies.

I love stand up comedy and would be stoked to talk to you about your favorite comedians.

The only TV shows that I stay current with are Silicon Valley and House of Cards. I am a fan of Parks and Rec, Veep, and Archer.

I listen to podcasts a lot. I listen to "My Brother My Brother and Me", "Judge John Hodgman", "Jordan Jesse Go", "Throwing Shade", and "Lady to Lady."

My favorite band of all time is "the Killers", specifically their first 3 albums. My music taste stems from "the Beatles". My current favorites is "My Morning Jacket."

I like food, I studied Food Science in college. To be honest though, the only food that I like to talk at length about is craft beer, I brewed professionally for 3 years, and love beer.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My mom and grandma
2. Music or Podcasts to listen to
3. Books
4. My roommates/our cat
5. Being outside
6. Running
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How quickly the world is changing, and whether or not I should start living like Ron Swanson before it's too late.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If I could have my way, every Friday night would be spent one of two ways. Singing karaoke at the bar down the street from me, or attending a comedy show. Those two things really bring me happiness. If you are willing to do a karaoke duet with me, you have won me over.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I ate lead paint chips as a child, and doctors think it dropped my IQ by 15 points.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You can tell me what song you bring the house down with in karaoke, or who your favorite stand up comedian is, what book you are reading, or you have a dog and want to brag about her, or you think you can beat me in cribbage, or...well there are a lot of reasons to message me, you probably just should.
