I am 56. I like music (rock, alt, folk) , Red Sox, hiking, snowshoeing, movies]]/tv, NPR, & museums (art and science)> I also appreciate a well-crafted crossword puzzle. {{Scuba diving is wonderful too, in warm, clear waters}}. Family and friends are most important to me. I try to keep in shape, stay up on current events, and am left of center, politically.

What I’m doing with my life

Monday through Friday I am on the work track, in a small family business. I manage to get to the gym a few evenings each week, though. I enjoy spending time with my older son, and my sister and her family who both live an hour away. My younger son is on the west coast, so seeing him is more challenging, but important.

I’m really good at

Really Good? That's a value judgment, and I am really good at humility, which makes answering this a challenge. : - )
I am a really good employer. I am a really good son to my aging father. I am a really good brother. And I think my kids would say I am a really good Dad. And when in a relationship, I am a really good partner.
And I am a little too good at honesty, even if it isn't in my best interest.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books - I most enjoy thrillers - my favorite authors are Thomas Perry, John Sandford, Robert B Parker, and Lee Child. Some of my other favorites are no longer writing - Robert Jordan and Tom Clancy.
Music - My old faves - Neil Young, Elton John and James Taylor Newer tastes include Fountains of Wayne, Ryan Adams, Sam Roberts Band, and New Pornographers
Movies - I enjoy romantic comedies and thrillers. I am not into horror flicks. I do love Judd Apatow's work.
Food - I try to eat healthfully, but there has to be room for pizza, gelato, and bbq.

The six things I could never do without

Beyond shelter, food and water? Family, friends, laughter, fresh clean country air, and cookies. I am a sucker for fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies (soft, not crunchy). I've listed only 5 things. The sixth is someone special to share my life.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Fulfilling my responsibilities, staying healthy and positive. What I should make for dinner. The Red Sox. What Nixon knew and when he knew it. Okay, maybe that isn't true anymore.

On a typical Friday night I am

Ready to have fun, but perhaps at a lower key level after a full week of work. Saturday is a higher energy time.
