Hey there. I am 42 and single and have been in several long term and live-in relationships but I have never been married (even though I have come close a few times). I am ambivalent about having children but I am open to all paths of family and community depending on the person who shows up for me and their situation. I prefer to date men who do not have children but if they do, it is better if the kids are a bit older. I come from a divorced family so I am hyper sensitive to dating partners who have kids and who are still working through their separation arrangements. As of now, I am much more interested in finding a life partner and love then creating a family because society says "it's time." I have had lot's of great loves in my life and they have taught me so many good lessons.
LOOKING FOR:
I am drawn to both introverts and strong personalities who are artistic and bold. I crave fast wit and someone who can spar with me but I also enjoy those who are silently strong. I value family and friends and community, so I need a man who can hang with those needs. I want someone who is passionate about the world we live in and digs politics and cultural events. As far as preferences.... I am more Prince over Pearl Jam, Democrats over Republicans and like quirky, smart, engineers. I love theater, dance, hip hop, yoga and movement therapy. I am interested in spirituality and self-improvement. I like a guy who can be a GUY and make me feel like a woman.
CAREER
I have been successful in my career and am very driven, so I want a partner who is focused on their ambitions or service in the world or self improvement. I am currently looking for more balance in my life, beyond my career. Work is less important to me now then in past years.
EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND:
I grew up in S. California and was a theater and dance major as an undergrad but my career lead me into a different industry. I moved to Northern California to go to graduate school and have been in the Bay area for several years now minus a short stint in Washington D.C. working for a past President. I work in hi-tech and healthcare.
