My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I moved to SF four years ago to be part of the growing tech industry here. My best friend and I were living in Ohio before that. Since we'd both spent our childhoods programming computers, we thought it'd be a really good idea to come out here.

I used to be pretty unhealthy when I first moved here, but now I have strong self-discipline when it comes to taking care of myself. I'm usually pretty outgoing and have a loud and clear voice. I'm honest and open with my feelings and thoughts, though I'm still learning how to be graceful.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I worked for a well-known and successful tech company for my first four years here. I loved it there, but the stress of the job became too much for me, so I took four months off. I left the city several times and I also spent a lot of time roaming around the parks and neighborhoods of SF while everyone was at work.

About a month and a half ago, I started working at a new startup. I'm enjoying working as a senior engineer at a company that hasn't figured everything out yet.

My friends and I just signed a lease on a 1000 square foot warehouse space to house a few Dance Dance Revolution machines and other projects. I'm looking forward to decorating and building things with my friends in the upcoming months.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Computer programming. My favorite part of software engineering is designing a system that's really easy for the team to understand and maintain.

I can also type at 150 wpm. I learned how to touch type when I was 8 because the computer my dad bought me at the time came with Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing. By the time my school started teaching us keyboarding in middle school, I already knew how to type fast, and the kids in my class used to watch and egg me on to see how fast I could go.

I love to talk and I open up about myself and feelings right off the bat when I meet someone new.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Favorite book: The Fountainhead.

My favorite movie is hands down The Matrix. I don't remember the second two, but I've seen the first one a hundred times. I think Neo is awesome and I relate being unplugged to my own spiritual awakening.

My favorite genre of music is called chiptunes or 8-bit music. I've been listening to it since I was a kid and luckily there's a subculture that produces more and better Nintendo and Game Boy music than ever before.

Food: Fake meat! I eat real meat when I'm out, but my fridge is stocked with fake meat and I really like it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Mom and Dad. As much as I like to think I'm independent, they still help me out quite a bit in life.

My best friend who moved to California with me from Ohio.

IRC, an old school chat system that's almost as old as email. It's how I keep in touch with old Internet friends and old coworkers.

My hands, eyes and brain. My work and career are super important to me, and I'm not sure what I'd do if I had to do something else.

My health. Running, exercise, a healthy diet, meditation practice, sleeping well. They all make me happier, and it would suck to get hurt or get sick.

San Francisco. I love living here.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to be nice.

Empathy and seeing things from others' point of view.

My own development. Noticing the difference in how old me and current me would handle a situation.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Playing 80s video games at my apartment with friends.

Cracking up at a free friday night improv show.

Hanging out at a bar patio.

Eating Korean food at 707 Sutter.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I once peed my pants during math class in third grade. I blamed the puddle near my desk on the second graders who came into our room earlier to eat lunch with us.
