Lived in the South Bay since 2012 and in the East Bay for 4 years before that. I went to college in LA and grew up in Orange County so I've always lived in California. I love to cook and am trying to explore the South Bay as much as possible. Jesuit educated.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am a pastoral minister at a Catholic Church mainly in charge of liturgy, worship, and hospitality.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I love cooking anything and everything but I especially love to recreate my mom's recipes. I used to think I was good with computers, until I moved to Silicon Valley which is filled with true computer geniuses.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Depends on how long ago I shaved. Also depends on what I am doing when someone first meets me. If I'm singing, they'll usually comment on my voice
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
The Chronicles of Narnia are my favorite books of all time with C.S. Lewis's other works also being high on my list.
And who doesn't like the Harry Potter series. It may sound strange if you're familiar with the books, but I devoured the His Dark Materials trilogy. As for the classics, I loved reading Jane Austen and John Steinbeck. Mary Wesley and James Martin, SJ are some of my other favorite authors. I'm currently reading Jennifer Worth's memoirs(the source material for Call the Midwife) and loving them.

When it comes to movies my love of The Chronicles of Narnia make me partial to The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. Love Actually and (500) Days of Summer are two of my favorite romantic comedies. Pan's Labyrinth is probably one of my favorite foreign films. 101 Dalmatians(the animated version of course), is my favorite Disney movie of all time. Chef and Captain America: The Winter Soldier are probably the best recent movies I've watched.

As for TV shows, one show that I always had to catch every week was How I Met Your Mother it recently ended. I never watched the early episodes but have really gotten into Grey's Anatomy. Mad Men and The Big Bang Theory are also great shows. PBS has some of the best dramas on TV with Call the Midwife,Pride and Prejudice, Little Dorrit, Downton Abbey, Sherlock, and Inspector Lewis as some of my favorites.
I also love to watch the Behind the Horn clips from ESPN's Around the Horn online.

I'm a bit of a nerd with listening to Podcasts. Some of my favorites are Night Attack, Invisibilia, Selected Shorts, and This American Life

As for music, I think that the (500) Days of Summer, Juno, and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty soundtracks have a great mix of songs. I also love Sara Bareilles and Taylor Swift. Recently I've been listening to a good deal of Aoife O'Donovan and Sarah Jarosz.

As for food, I'm very open to different cuisines but especially love simple things that I can recreate at home. My all time favorite though is whatever my mom cooks for me when I visit home. I also happen to own almost all of Andrea Nguyen's cookbooks, which are also great glimpses into culinary history in addition to the recipes.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Random things. All the time.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Cooking dinner after going on a bike ride in the afternoon, hanging out with the house mates, or attending prayer group.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a lifetime member of Weight Watchers.
