My self-summary
What if I were to tell you there is a guy who...

is a native southerner who doesn't think like one. He is the youngest brother and a goofball uncle. He believes in family and not just the image of it.

He is self aware , confident, and knows what he wants. He's never been married and has no kids of his own. He doesn't fear commitment, just committment for comittment's sake.

He is intense and tenacious, but isn't mr. alpha male. Intellect stimulates him every bit as much as the physical. He has no real difficulty showing or being shown emotion. His gruff exterior belies his warmth inside. He is genuine. His word is his most valuable currency.

And he ...

is somewhat set in his ways, yet remains open to new thoughts and ideas. He is liberal in thought and more conservative in action. Just because something isn't right for him, doesn't mean it isn't right for someone else. He shoots straight and can be brutally honest. Analyzes and observes before drawing conclusions. Has a dry, witty sense of humor. Appreciates good debate and likes to stir the pot on occasion. He respects differences of opinion.

He ...

is proud of his german heritage, but he didn't inherit the knack for sciences and math and can't speak the language as he should. He clings to his family tradition. He enjoys experiencing different cultures. He prefers inclusion as opposed to exclusion. He takes risks as calculated as they may be. has driven 161 mph on the autobahn in the car of his dreams. has gone power and hang gliding. He will one day jump out of a perfectly good airplane.

What if I told you there was a guy who...

believes a job isn't just a means to an end, but something to be enjoyed and that if it is enjoyed then its not really work. He is spiritual rather than religious. thinks all thought is creative. thinks life has many whites and many blacks, but it is lived in the gray.

This guy ...

was a radio DJ in college. He has been to many a rave, but has never done a single drug and only puffed on one cigarette in his life. He drinks often but not to the point of drunkenness and often not even for a buzz. He appreciates a good brew. If or when he goes hard its Jack, Captain, or Ultimat. Wine just isn't his thing. He can and will eat anything and everything (except tofu) . His metabolism has yet to catch up with him.

He ...

Rocks the cool kicks and good jeans daily, but turns it up a notch on a whim or for the right occasion. He isn't over materialistic, but enjoys nicer things in life. For him it's all about the associated value.

He is a kid of pop culture, but not a fan of country music. He Regularly checks out art exhibits. has his own photography hanging on the walls in his home. He watches a great deal of TV (professional hazard) pays attention to most sports. That too is in the name of professionalism. He doesn't cheer in the press box, but is a true fan of The Atlanta Braves and everything Florida Gators. His mood, however, isn't tied to how they fare. he doesn't consider fandom of teams a deal breaker.

He likes to write way more than he likes to read unless he can gain new knowledge from it. He believes in being active, just not in a gym. He thinks the Botanical Gardens is one of Atlanta's hidden gems.

He's really into ...

Women with a strong personality, an open mind, a dry witty and sarcastic sense of humor, and a bit of "spunk." What that is is tough to say, but he knows it when he sees it. He prefers someone secure enough with themselves to allow for some self discovery thus enriching the shared experience.

He doesn't ....

have any preconceived notions or lofty expectations coming in, just an idea to be open to whatever relationship may develop.

What if I told you there is THIS GUY. Is that something you'd be interested in?
What I’m doing with my life
Working for the man since I am,well, the man. Rediscovering Atlanta, not because I left and have returned, but because so much of it seemed "been there done that". Being more social and creating the life I want to lead.
I’m really good at
Looking at your profile, Making pretty pictures that entertain the masses. analyzing situations, thinking creatively, seeing other points of view, being a cool uncle, a younger brother, and using my tongue. Not like that, get you mind out of the gutter. Ok, maybe you shouldn't, but I can speak in various tongues pretty well.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I look a lot like my father. Not the 68 year old version because that would be kinda weird and benjamin button like.

For those who don't know my father, I guess it would be the ears, nose, and overall slimness. Before long my sarcasm likely takes root.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
books? what are those? Ok I know what they are. But, if Apple, Amazon, and the rest of the lot have it their way; my youngest nephew might really not. I tend to read for current events not so much for pleasure (other than the articles ... of course). A couple classics are The Hobbit and Where The Sidewalk Ends. I enjoyed Of Mics And Men, Ted, and and The War For Late Night. If Jon Stewart is hawking it on his show chances are I'd read it.

Funny how I neglected "movies, shows, music..." perviously. Guess it felt too much like work. Then I remembered, I don't consider what I do for a living to be work.

Music .... Everything from Brit Pop to Roots and Electro. A few to paint the picture: Airborne Toxic Event, Two Door Cinema Club, Flight Facilities, Sneaky Sound System, Groove Armada, Fleet Foxes, U2, The Presets, Ben Kweller, Broken Bells, Tired Pony, Hey Mama, VNV Nation, Nick Warren, Joseph Arthur, The Cure, The Knife, The Decemberists, MGMT, The Kooks, Kent, She and Him, Iron and Wine, R.E.M., Julia Haltigan, Alanama Shakes, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Tracy Chapman, Florence And The Machine, FreeSol, 2Pac, TMBG, Pheonix, The XX, The National, Luda, Belle and Sebastian, Cake, Daft Punk, NIN, Clan of Xymox, Paul Van Dyk, Ladytron, Editors, A-Ha, Depeche Mode, The Church, Schiller Mit Heppner, The Knife, Sisters Of Mercy, Pearl Jam, Sugarcubes, David Bowie, Santigold ... I guess that was more than just a few, but given all that I listen to, it paints the best picture.

TV ... A couple classics are The Wonder Years, Family Ties, The Wire, and Extras. Breaking Bad, The Daily Show, Real Time With Bill Maher, No Reservations, Dexter, Mad Men, Californication, Entourage, Shameless, Modern Family, Big Bang Theory, Top Chef, Austin City Limits, Community, Treme.

Movies ... Somekind Of Wonderful, Say Anything, Scott Pilgrim, Garden State, Juno, Nick and Norah Zack and Miri, Closer, Friday, Man Bites Dog, True Romance, Almost Famous, Lost Boys, Ferris, The Dark Knight Resovoir Dogs, Blade Runner, Die Hard, Beautiful Mind, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Food ... Anything really. I am quite the adventurous eater even if I don't know exactly how to order or make it. I frequently "amaze" (their word not mine) my cohorts when we go out to lunch. Blood Sausage, Liverwurst, Octopus, GoatSushi, Italian, Indian, Thai, Ethiopian.
The six things I could never do without
Water (for consumption and recreation)
Meaningful relationships
Technology
Intellectual stimulation
Intrigue
Dreams
On a typical Friday night I am
Chilling with my brother and nephews. The clubs and the bars, while I enjoy them aren't really my thing anymore. Perhaps I just don't have the right / enough motivation.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Not so private, just different. I watched ET 13 times while it was in theatres. Oh and I think the tongue is the most powerful muscle in the body. Again, not really private ... Just insightful. Oh, I know ... My family nickname is Paer. Yes, like the fruit only spelled odd thanks to my oldest brother.
