My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm not so good at talking about myself, so it's hard to tell how many times I'll be revisiting this -- I'll start with 'bullet points' & see where they take me ...

> I've often been called a good listener, great friend.
> open
> honest
> sincere

and now I'm drawing a blank - more later!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
> have worked in different things over the years, now have my own small business

> involved in multiple community groups/activities (mostly arts-related) for years, though I have cut back a bit since I started working for myself - the boss expects so much! ;)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
> listening
> volunteering to help out a friend with ... most anything
> keeping busy (not good at sitting still, though I like trying it every so often!)
> in-depth conversations, on most any topic - really enjoy it
> pretty good w/ music (mostly choral)
> enjoy working w/ community theatre (backstage - lighting, building, that sort of stuff)
> a bit of a handyman, like trouble-shooting / fixing things -- some electrical, a little plumbing, etc.
> hugs (seriously - friends & family have mentioned it!)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
> my smile, I suppose?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Favorite books ... hmmm, likely they would be mysteries, though I can be drawn to books in most any category (when I can find time to actually read one!) - no specific title comes to mind, though

Favorite movies ... it's not Christmas without "It's a Wonderful Life" &/or "Miracle on 34th Street" (the original b&w version) ... enjoy some musicals like "1776" or favorites from childhood like "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" ... John Wayne movies ("Quiet Man" is a favorite) ... "The Princess Bride" -- a modern classic! ... of more recent vintage, I like a number of them but don't know I'd call them 'favorites' yet

Favorite (TV) shows ... "Bones" ... "Castle" ... "Doctor Who" ... "Once Upon a Time" ... "West Wing" ... the various 'Star Trek' series (though I'd put the original at the bottom of the list as far as one I'd want to watch again) ... "NCIS" ... that's probably enough

Favorite foods ... most meats including seafood ... Italian, indian ... chocolate (esp. the dark stuff!) ... prefer cake over pie (except for Key Lime - yum!)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
(Dark) Chocolate
Intelligent conversation
Arts (theater, visual)
yes, I know that's #7, but since I listen to it every day it really should be on the list (plus it connects to all the others!)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
hmmm ... in the short term, what I wrote in these essays ;)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
working, relaxing, & likely wishing I had someone to share my time
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
if I consider it private, likely that would be something I'd want to share more one-to-one, not on an open website ... but for something private that I would post, I can't think of anything just now - sorry!
