My self-summary
Hello from the South Pacific again! While I was super jazzed about returning to my country, I had an awesome opportunity to work with the Prime Minister's office. We are getting out computer equipment to rural schools that need it all over Vanuatu. After that, I'll get to work with the countries budding Health Information Systems and have the chance to create some positive change. If all goes well, I will be back in the States in January 2015.

While I would often rather be sitting in a climate controlled, sterile, bug free and noise lite environment playing a computer game or two, this just hasn't been possible for over 2 years now. I've learned 'the hard way' that I enjoy a much more varied life than the one I set out to live after college. Hiking, camping, taking pictures, travelling, or listlessly pursuing a lazy afternoon in front of a book or movie, I love it all. Living in Vanuatu has changed my attitude towards what I can’t change and showed me what I should be enjoying in life.
What I’m doing with my life
No idea at this point. Looking for IT jobs back in Oregon at the moment to pay down the student loans. Once those are gone, Who Knows!?
I’m really good at
All haphazard like:

Besides programming VCRs, I am good listener, critical thinker, and really enjoy solving puzzles.

I am a good cook and make a lot of pizzas, pastas, stirfrys, and chillies. (I had "I am cook" here for a week, my English has gone down the drain thanks to Bislama. "Mi save kok gud we i gud!".)

Map reading would also be one of my strengths.

Drinking kava, but the hangovers are the worst!

People tell me I'm good at photography, which is great to hear, but sometimes I fear I have the technical aspect down, but still lack a lot of the artistic/dramatic flair that seems so effortless to others.
The first things people usually notice about me
Bright eyes, short hair (or unkept if you catch me needing a haircut), height (6ft is on the short end of tall). Personable.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
TV: Favorite show of all time is Futurama. Geek show with heart :) but I may or may not be replacing this with Bob's Burgers...
Movies: Moonrise Kingdom and Up
Music: Just about anything but I have a rather complete collection of NIN. Just discovered Grace Potter, in 2013, where have you been all my life?!
Books: George R. R. Martin, Michael Crichton, Michael Connelly, Thomas Harris, Orson Scott Card, Jim Butcher, Stieg Larsson, etc…
Food: Everything, Pizza being my favorite. I'll down some lap lap manioc if given the chance though.
The six things I could never do without
Living in a third world country has really adjusted my answer to this question:

1. A safe place to poop: Having to leave the house at 4:00am and wandering in the darkness to find the long drop isn't my idea of fun.
2. My bush knife, window screens, and Mortine (to kill/keep out the bugs)
3. My cellphone with free minutes to my friends
4. A gas/electric stove (not a fan of cooking over fire yet)
5. A solar powered lantern (these things are awesome)
6. People to share my crazy experiences with, like the time a centipede crawled across my mosquito net inches from my face _shudder_.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Space!

Science!

Puzzels!

Sleep!

Kava!

Bugs!
On a typical Friday night I am
At the Nakamal (kava bar in Vanuatu) drinking with my fellow teachers. Actually, I am there a lot more nights than Friday, kava is just so damn cheap!

And by Nakamal, I really mean my back yard. We just go to the village (30 minute walk) and get a plastic of it and bring it back. Dang wish it was Friday now.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I sometimes sleepwalk, or sleep eat... Cereal boxes beware.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 22–30
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You are looking for an international friend or have questions about PC or Vanuatu. OkCupid doesn't list 'pidgin' or 'Bislama' in their languages, but I'd also be down to converse in that if you know any. I don't know where I'll be or when, but wanting a date is another great reason to contact me, I miss treating a girl, it was/is difficult to do this in Vanuatu. Have an awesome day!
