My self-summary
The purpose of life is simply the enjoyment of it. I work hard at my job but, I still try to not take life too seriously. I'm open-minded and easy-going.

I like this quote from the movie Her: "The heart is not like a box that gets filled up; it expands in size the more you love."
What I’m doing with my life
I'm an investment banker. I structure municipal bond finance deals.

In my spare time I tinker with cocktail recipes.
I’m really good at
I like to make cocktails with my brother. I'm not bad at skiing or poker. I like explaining things to people. I used to have a business radio show in college.

I like analyzing hip hop songs. I think they are an underappreciated form of modern day poetry.
The first things people usually notice about me
How absurdly sexy I am.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
For me the the best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - that you'd thought special, particular to you. And here it is, set down by someone else, a person you've never met, maybe even someone long dead. And it's as if a hand has come out, and taken yours.

Books: As I Lay Dying, Brain Droppings, American Sucker, The Biggest Game in Town, Miss Lonelyhearts, Liar's Poker, Wiseguy

Movies: Pierrot le fou, The Searchers, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Blade Runner, Goodfellas

Shows: The Wire, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Veronica Mars, Breaking Bad

Music: Nas, Sam Cooke, Biggie, New Order, Young Marble Giants

Food: spicy, flavorful, exotic, ethnic food (I ate maggot cheese!)
The six things I could never do without
Wacky family
Oddball friends
Sour beer
Rhum agricole
Erotic thrillers (like Basic Instinct)
Sleeping half the day
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to beat the stock market. (It's not easy!)

That I am here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and I may contribute a verse.
What will my verse be?
On a typical Friday night I am
Trying to live in the moment.

These roses under my window make no reference to former roses or to better ones; they are for what they are; they exist today. There is no time to them. There is simply the rose; it is perfect in every moment of its existence.
You should message me if
You are willing to call me "O Captain! My Captain!"
