My Self-Summary
Here are several random things about me. . . .
1. I think good grammar is sexy.
2. I love chocolate milk shakes made with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Please do not make me a chocolate shake with chocolate ice cream. That’s just a gross waste of calories.
3. Years ago, I made shakes for a living.
4. I recently moved from the Bay Area back to Ohio.
5. My cats, Zoë and Bird, are 11 years old. They were in the car with me for 2 cross-country trips, howling all 2,461 miles each time.
6. I want to climb a mountain, run a marathon, learn to surf, take voice and tap dancing lessons, hold a conversation in Chinese, draw more, make collages, knit more, write more, and build a cob house. I want to become an accountant and an industrial engineer. I'd like to earn an MBA and art degree. I want to travel to Bali and Moso country in the Himalayas. I’d also love to start playing the piano again and go whitewater rafting every summer. Soon I will join Toastmaster’s. First, I will take a nap.
7. I struggle to remember the ends of books and movies. So don’t worry, you won’t ruin it for me.
8. I saw Knocked Up in the theater 9 times and MILK in the theater 3 times.
9. I regard feminist theory as life-affirming and life-saving for men and women.
10. I never felt like I was from Cleveland until I lived in San Francisco. The Golden Gate Bridge is one of my favorite places in the world. I used to walk it once a month. On my first plane ride to San Francisco, I wore flowers in my hair.
11. I can fit 90% of my current belongings in my car. It’s a 4-door Toyota Corolla. The rest of my stuff is in boxes in my friend Molly's garage.
12. I try to eat a salad every day. I try not to eat a box of cookies every day. Among other things, I do at least 10 push-ups every morning.
13. I love collage, multi-media creativity, and outsider art. I include murals, comic books, music, interior design, improv, and drag shows in these categories. I love museums and community street events. I also really dig roller derby.
14. I enjoy Diego Rivera’s work much more than Frida Kahlo’s. "This American Life" is my favorite radio show, Julie Taymor my favorite director.
15. I have incredible, supportive friends. Every one of them laughs at my jokes.
16. As a writer and marketer, I always feel that my written work is being judged. The pressure! (That goes for this list, as well.)
