My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a pretty introverted guy, really smart (most of the time), prone to bad puns and self-deprecating humor; in other words, a bit goofy and a bit nerdy. I tend to approach most things with an open mind and honesty. I think this makes me a little too direct at times, but never out of disrespect or meanness. I'm a pragmatic optimist – not everything will always turn out fine, but in general, if you make the effort things will work out for the best.

Oh, and when I drink I'm a happy drunk, which means I'm pretty fun to go out with, and also not too much of a latent asshole.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
So I have a really great job and live in a city I love, but I need to do something that makes more of a difference, and right now that's one of the things I'm trying to figure out. Right now I'm leaning towards working in international health and economic development (fieldwork for the red cross for instance), but I'm open to suggestions!
The first things people usually notice about me

I really don't know! I'd hope my stupendous wit or rugged good looks, but really it's more likely my oversized schnozzola. Damn.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Music Lots of electronic and electro pop, Chemical Brothers, Justice, Underworld, LCD Sound System, Die Antwoord, etc. Pretty much any 80s New Wave, David Bowie, Queen, late 50s to mid 60s soul and Brill Building pop and so on.

TV Dexter, Homeland (on the fence about much of season two though), Bob's Burgurs, Archer, True Blood, Entourage, BSG, Veep, Girls.

Movies Just saw Django Unchained, pretty brilliant. Jackie Brown is still my favorite QT movie though. Anything by Cronenberg, Atom Egoyan, David Lynch, Pixar (except cars, what a bad idea), most from Tony Scott (always felt he was more intellectually honest than his brother), Let the Right One In, The Kingdom, basically anything created with care and a point of view.

Books Only just started reading fiction again recently; love the Song of Fire and Ice books. The Hunger Games trilogy was surprisingly brutal for 'young adult' lit. Robert E Howard is pretty good if you can get passed the rather racist undertones.

In non-fiction, just finished The Psychopath Test by Jon Ronson, great book by an author with a wonderful voice.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Oxygen, food, shelter, sunlight, iPhone. I could survive without anything else, but it wouldn't be a very enjoyable existence.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
It varies a bit; sometimes having drinks with friends after work or catching a new movie. But just as often sitting at home working on some design project, or reading interesting but inconsequential things on the internet.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I forgot to vote in the 2012 presidential election!
