I love exploring, working on, and feeling connected to land. Human connections and a sense of community are also very important to me. I value a quiet, peaceful, rural life as well as the conveniences and social benefits of living in a more densely settled area.

I aspire to live a simple life. I want to grow and cook my own food, drive as little as possible, be engaged in my community, and do meaningful work. After much dabbling in different environmentally-related things for about five years, I finally have clarity that I want to be a teacher of some sort. I am planning to go to grad school next fall.

Politically I lean pretty far left and this is important to me. Part of me wishes I was putting myself on the line to shut down a coal plant or tar sands pipeline. I've done this type of work in the past in the past, but it's not as much a part of my life right now.

I love growing food, hiking, playing pick-up soccer, cross-country skiing, cooking and sharing good food with others. I very rarely watch movies and I don't have a TV. I'm not categorically opposed to movie-watching and I do enjoy a movie every once and a while, but it's just not a part of my solo routine.

Farming and teaching and playing outside. I try to do a little yoga and something active almost every day.

In summer people notice my chaco sandal tan-lines if I take my chacos off. Or in general they comment that it looks like I've been working outside. Last week I was at a contra dance and people noticed my hands are rough due to having them in the dirt/using them all day every day.

Maybe out at a potluck with some friends or some other social gathering. Maybe a few friends are over for dinner. Maybe at home and content by myself by the wood stove, working on a project or just going to bed early because I am getting up early for something or other.

It seems like we have some shared interests and values
Outside time is way more important and almost always better than screen time
Adventures and risk-taking and rule-breaking are good... within reason...
