I'm an artist in Brooklyn, an animator, photographer -- always trying to be a creative free-spirit. I'm divorced and have two kids (7 yrs and 4 yrs) who live with their mother.

I like to take a wacky, progressive view on the world -- Daffy Duck meets somebody I can't think of right now. Love travel, always with camera equipment (a lot or a little). I have a techie background that comes through in my visual work.

What I’m doing with my life

Right now I'm switching from mostly doing animation for broadcast television to doing photography independently, especially landscapes and abstract work that plays with light and optics.

I'm looking for more freedom to enjoy things.

I’m really good at

Photography, creating a mood or sense of atmosphere visually. I'm good at explaining the obscure stuff I understand to people who have little knowledge and don't really want to learn a whole lot but would like to understand. And I'm good with my hands.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm a little off-beat, a slightly wacky, often dark sense of humor. Tall, glasses. I laugh loudly. Deep laugh, turns heads sometimes.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

This could be a long list. Recently, I've read a lot of Cormac McCarthy and a lot of graphic novels. That's changing now, but I'm now sure where it's going. Love movies in general, from art house to blockbuster (just saw Iron Man . . . great).

As for music, anything goes: Patsy Cline, Beethoven, Mozart, Einsturzende Neubauten, Ministry, you name it. Food likewise.

The six things I could never do without

Camera; good shoes and socks for long long walks and hikes; a good backpack; travel; chocolate

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The world, especially the visual world. Also politics and current events. My two kids -- love 'em.

At this moment (Friday, July 10): Space aliens, chocolate and the End of the World occupy much thought-time. Plus things that are blue, maybe green.

On a typical Friday night I am

Could be anything, depending on how the week has gone. More often like to stay home on Friday evening and head out on Saturday.
