Born in upstate NY. Ethnoculturally I'm half-Chinese, half-WASPy
East Coast intellectual. Boarding school, Yale undergrad, grad
school at Stanford. Lived in China a little as a child, and then
on-and-off for the past eight years. Have explored and adventured
in lots of places around the world, but still not enough.
Careerwise I did banking and investing. Then after b-school I
co-founded a company that invests in and manages Chinese art. I'm
still loving every minute of it.
I'm balanced, driven, caring, introspective. I love life. I try to do the right thing. I'm definitely a sentimental romantic -- I lead with what's in my heart, seek inspiration and to inspire. But I'm also a bit of a wise-ass. And inside, I'm still the goofy kid who likes to make everyone crack up and be happy.
While more of an extrovert, I also need some time to recharge at home. I'm pretty active, both in terms of exercise (xfit, running, tennis, squash, snowboarding, hiking, canoeing) and fun activities, but also very content hanging/cuddling on the couch with a good book or movie/TV. When going out I really enjoy cultural events (symphony, ballet, openings, plays, movies), but most often will end up at a convivial dinner with friends, drinking beautiful wine, inspiring and cracking each other up with thoughts lofty and low.
I've got my eyes peeled for someone really smart / well educated with a big heart. Intellectually alive. I tend to resonate most with people with an international perspective. I'm a softie and I need to be with someone else who is sensitive and caring. Values are super-important to me: family first, education, humanism. The personality covering these traits isn't as important. I get along great with sassy, loud people and more quiet introverted types. Chemistry is most important but hardest to explain: emotional, intellectual and physical. I'm sure we'll know it if we have it.
