My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am good at some things that I am really bad at, like ping pong, calligraphy, and other activities requiring some degree of eye-hand coordination. I am good at some things that I am good at also. These include drinking tea and listening.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The first thing people usually notice about me is that I am totally unnoticeable....which is not the same thing as being invisible. Generally, people will look at me and then look at their phones, or the book they are reading, or just keep on looking in the direction they are going, as I am pleasant enough and neither strikingly handsome nor grotesque. Being unnoticeable is a skill which naturalists and wildlife photographers often seek.....only in my case the camuflage that I wear is the whole of urban existence.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My favorite books are those that are the same size so that they can fit neatly on the bookshelf. Numbered volumes don't count. And books with spiral binding or so big they have to be shelved sideways are off my list of favorites. My favorite food is food that is arranged neatly on the table, the portions placed carefully on each ceramic dish. I like food that is cooked by friends or food I cook myself. My favorite shows are displays of emotion in everyday life such as the absurdly dramatic spoken in the tone of voice used in Noh plays. My favorite movies are those accompanied with popcorn and friends and are ones that involve some laughter.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Body and mind, a houseplant, a bright orange persimmon, three sesame seeds which for no particular reason are placed on a square sheet of rice paper, mineral water, and a window.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
returning home on the Odakyu line. In Shinjuku, waiting for a train where I can sit.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have never spray-painted graffiti underneath bridges or in other places and I don't have any tattoos, yet I admire street art and the people who are devoted to it.
