Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
(Update: Keeping the original text because it's accurate, and
providing some new bits for 2015.)
So, I've been gone. For several months now. That's right I met
someone. Made me hot and bothered, took my breath away and
eventually nearly killed me. In other words... I caught both the
"A" & "B" strains of the flu this year.
Tempted though I am to barrel through this at 1am with a drink in
one hand (hey, most of my best papers have been produced that way!)
I think I will wait until I have my thoughts a bit more in order. I
would like to produce a swoon-worthy essay designed to make people
want more. Not an incoherent stumble leading folk through my
subconscious desires. That's for after a few dates.
Don't be offended if it takes me a long time to reply to messages.
I don't come to the site but once a week (if that) and then search
for awesome messages of caliber that engage my discerning glance.
(Or you know, that don't include generic "falling all over you and
clearly didn't read a word you wrote" prose...)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently working at a job I love and raising offspring. I am
known to dress up in silly costumes and play D&D. I also go to
the movies, hiking and the beach whenever I can. I use sunscreen. A
lot. I pray, celebrate, laugh and smile constantly. Plus, every now
and again I go and find a grand adventure.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Peace-mongering, making people feel more interesting than they are,
loving, learning, laughing. Alliteration. Play. Awkward nervousness
masquerading as disdainful disinterest.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm reserved, smart, elegant and professional. (Which just goes to
show how ridiculous first impressions are. Talk to me when you've
at least reached the backstage. The first act is rarely all there
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I am often found reading two or three books at once. It's hard to
selectively say what a favorite would be. There are certain titles
and films I find myself repeating from time to time... I love the
work of Guy Gavriel Kay & Tolkien, my current shows range from
Orange is the New Black to Doctor Who, I love nearly all film save
for sophomoric comedy and romance. Also love to settle in with some
good whiskey, cheese and fruit.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Funky clothes, (tech) toys, tea, secret thoughts, laughter, my VW
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Humor. The world and my place in it. The poverty cycle. People and
their pets. Parenthood. Social awkwardness. Sex, love &
relationships. Films. Computers. Science. The joys of the written
word. God, spirit and divinity. Dreams. Nature. Horror. Men. Women.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Watching Miyazaki/Disney movies from 6-8; Horror/sci-fi from
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I cuss like a sailor and drive like I'll get an award for arriving
first. I would rather drink whiskey than wine. I would rather watch
movies where shit blows up, than romantic comedies. I have
offspring. I am sarcastic. I have the relationship instincts of
your average stray cat, will not remember anniversaries and really
want a *friend* who is fun in bed...

You have actually read this, think my profile is badass and aren't
just cruising. Not looking for a one night stand or a soul mate but
