My self-summary
Intelligent, fun, funny, builder of things, and with a spiritual side. I have a big heart and big shoulders and try to always be emotionally honest. I am the most loyal person you will ever meet. Looking for life's next adventure!
What I’m doing with my life
I finally have the space in my life to pursue a startup high tech business I've dreamt about for a long time - and it is funded too! My latest passion is quad roller skating, especially indoor dance skating -it is so fun! I also love riding my single-speed bike in the city, Marin, and Palo Alto. Other than that I love living in SF and frequent the many food, drink, and art venues in the city.

I was married for 18 years to a really wonderful woman, but unfortunately that relationship ended. I have two adult sons and the youngest left the nest a year ago.

I'm on my own for the first time since I was 29, which is both sad and a relief at the same time. I'm sure you know the feeling! I am proud that I was able to get both sons through four years of university with no student loans. My parental job is done, at least for the moment haha.
I’m really good at
Cooking, bike repair/maintenance/building, craft cocktails, listening, and traveling without getting stressed. I love to garden as well.
The first things people usually notice about me
My female bestie says "I would say an amazing warm hearted person with a fabulous ROI". I like to dress nicely and you will never see me in mom jeans or running shoes. I also like to wear a scarf in chilly SF and have a large collection. Unfortunately, I also hear "You look a lot younger in person than your photos". Treacherous cameras!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Cohen brothers
Woody Allen
Wes Anderson
Sofia Coppola

Music - many types of music but tend towards electronic: ambient, down tempo, deep house, funky breakbeat. I listen to Groove Salad and Beat Blender on SOMA FM a lot. I love Macklemore as an emerging hip-hop artist. The guy is amazing.

Poetry - unfortunately contemporary poetry is so fragmented I think every published poet only has about 150 readers. I regularly scan the shelves at City Lights looking for interesting contemporary poets.

My desert island poets:
Daisy Fried (former Poetry Editor for the New York Times)
August Kleinzahler (San Francisco's most famous poet few have heard of)

Other poets I have recently read:
Rumi - in the Arms of the Beloved
Andrea Gibson - The Madness Vase
Susan Goldsmith Wooldridge - Poemcrazy (book about poetry)
David Orr - Beautiful & Pointless (another book about poetry)
Maureen McLane - Same Life, My Poets
Stephen Crane - Complete Poems
Elaine Equi - Voice-Over, Click and Clone
David McGimpsey - Li'l Bastard (the only book on this list I didn't like)
Tracy K. Smith - Life On Mars
Michael Ondaatje - The Cinnamon Peeler

Lots of non-fiction, lately a lot about the fashion industry, sewing, artists (Hockney, Richter), watercolor theory, science. Kleon - Steal Like An Artist. The Snuggie Sutra (I actually did read this, but borrowed it from a friend. Yeah, that makes it OK) .

China Melville - The City and the City
Dave Eggers - The Circle
Aldous Huxley - Point Counter Point (I love English/Irish writers of the last century: Huxley, Waugh, Greene, Donleavy, Maughm, Lowery, Wodehouse, etc.)

Outerlands takes reservations now!!
The six things I could never do without
Some tools. I have to build things to keep my sanity
iPad - sad but true
Walking shoes that aren't running shoes, like chukkas or leather boots. Chuck Taylor's in a pinch.
Fountain pen and Clairefontaine paper
Really good olive oil and balsamic vinegar
Roller skates
A rebuilt vintage bike
I spend a lot of time thinking about
It must say something about me that this is the only profile question I am having a hard time coming up with an answer for. My business, the future, friends and family, what I'm going to make for dinner. It's so hard to cook for one person :(
On a typical Friday night I am
Since Friday night is preceded by Monday through Thursday, I am usually pretty low key on Friday night and much more active Saturday and Sunday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
It's actually pretty amazing! I'll tell you as soon as we meet!
You should message me if
You would like to meet or check me out further. I am a pretty outgoing person that enjoys meeting people, so I'll spend a half hour with someone without having to go through a lot of messaging.

I no longer pay for OKC, so if you like me I won't know who you are. Just message me with a smiley face and I will take it from there 😊

Although it doesn't seem to happen much on OKC, girls can message guys. It's 2016 and our next president will be a woman!
