I am sarcastic, loyal, and intelligent.
My Self-Summary
There are things I hate: orange tic tacs, people who can't drive,
people who misuse their/they're/there or your/you're, chocolate
cereal, those damn Peeps in any size, shape or color. I hate it
when it's so hot outside you can't think.
There are also things I love:
photography,
reading a good book,
hiking,
yoga, a good glass of
wine,
dancing like a fool,
tattoos,
news bloopers,
potato rolled tacos,
free
museum
Tuesdays, and
coffee. Man, how I love coffee.
What I’m doing with my life
I
teach Middle
School English. Can you handle it? ;)
I’m really good at
I can hold my own in Scrabble.
I have a calendar in my brain.
I can read nearly any handwriting.
I can untie impossible knots.
And you know that bubble game on the Wii play? I am awesome at
that.
The first things people usually notice about me
When you first meet me, I am warm, kind, and open. I will do more
listening than talking.
And, while that IS me, once I know you better, I am more likely to
be a bit snarky, to be hard to shut up, and to be opinionated. But
still warm, kind (if you don't take yourself too seriously, anyway)
and open. :)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I love Thai food. I am
vegetarian.
I love anything
Vonnegut. Other favorite authors
include
Douglas
Adams,
Orson Scott Card,
Gregory Maguire.
The most recent book I read was Good Omens. It was hilarious and I
can't believe I have lived this long without it. I am now reading A
Long Way Gone.
Music is mostly in the indie/alternative range, but not all
stuck-up-I-drink-PBR-and-think-I'm-better-than-you-indie. Just
enjoy a good show, and have, in recent years, enjoyed the
experience The Casbah brings much more than the experience a large
arena show brings. Last concert I went to was Heartless Bastards at
The Casbah, and it was freaking amazing, even though it was the 4th
time I've seen them.
The six things I could never do without
Books. Coffee. Saturdays. Music. Conversation. Alone time.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Work, if we're honest. Teaching is like that.
I also spend a lot of time wondering why people are so stupid.
On a typical Friday night I am
Generally, Friday is Happy Hour night. A drink with some friends,
but not a late night. Then home for maybe some DVR'd TV, or a
movie, or my book and some kitty time. For me, Fridays are
EXHAUSTING, so I want to unwind, but not go crazy, typically. Crazy
is for Saturday. :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I read profiles backwards (from the bottom up)
You should message me if
You are smart and funny and tolerant. If you can manage passable
grammar and spelling (no need for perfect, but really, people). You
are fairly kind. If a game of Scrabble in a coffee shop sounds like
a good date to you.
