I am awesome, inventive, and quiet.

My Self-Summary

More like I_need_a_hug.

I need diversion from my sleep, work, eat, play routine, even though I kind of like it. Playing usually amounts to going for a walk, playing the ukulele, or fixing up the house. Work often eats more time than I should let it, but it's rewarding.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm living my childhood dream, even though it wasn't my adulthood dream, but it's still pretty good. Trying to look for new ways to stay sane.

I’m really good at

Computer programming is what I do best, and despite how non-fun that sounds, I try to apply it in fun ways. I'm told I'm good at finishing things I start. I'm gradually getting better at the ukulele. I wonder sometimes if I'm a super-taster. I'm good at avoiding eye contact...or keeping eye contact, depending on whether a staring contest is active. I will go for the longest of walks or bike rides.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm quiet until I get to know people, and even then I don't always have a lot to say. I'm told this intimidates some people, which makes me sad and makes me talk even less.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

My music intake in high school was primarily punk and ska, and that has stuck around. Lately I've probably been mostly influenced by ukulele covers in countless different genres. Moxy Fruvous, They Might Be Giants, Jonathan Coulton, and Cake are always welcome, too.

I don't know how to narrow down my movie preferences. I have enjoyed some thoroughly terrible movies (thanks largely to RiffTrax and MST3K). I recently watched "The American Astronaut" and "Stingray Sam," both by Cory McAbee, and I think they're both just about the best things I've seen in a long time though very bizarre.

I'm a picky eater. I prefer simple food over what most places try to serve me, any day.

The six things I could never do without

I could do without most things. I figure if I lose my job I'll just pack my bindle and ride the rails.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Things I should be doing. What I want to accomplish. Dumb things I've done. Nothing at all. How to be different.
