My self-summary
I am a relaxed, fun-loving guy from London who loves his friends! I've spent a fair amount of time travelling over the world (when I have the funds to do so) and meeting people from different walks of life.

You'll find it difficult to offend me, and I come across as rather un-PC myself, so if you're easily offended... well, I may not be the person for you. However, I do respect other people's feelings and wishes, so I can be made to tone down amongst company who do not share my dark sense of humour or silly, immature comments.

You may notice that my profile states I sometimes smoke. This is slightly inaccurate as I am not a fan of cigarettes or cigars. I do enjoy smoking flavoured tobacco in a hookah/shisha/whatever you want to call it. I find it very sociable and relaxing to try various flavours with friends, and see who can blow the largest smoke rings. Favourite flavours include double apple, banana and cherry.

I often enjoy singing out loud, usually making up songs to existing tunes that are stuck in my head. This is something that you'll gradually come to find out if you hang out with me for longer than about 3 hours. (Sometimes less.) If you get embarrassed by someone singing, dancing and generally acting a little silly from time to time... prepare to be red-faced around me!

I am rather nerdy (geeky? dorky? I'm not any one of them enough to make a distinction between the three, to be honest!) and love spending time online, playing video games (especially on the PS3 - I am a PlayStation fan... sorry 360 users) and love fancy, new gadgets. In contrast, I also love reading, visiting museums and learning new facts about pretty much anything.

As much as I am loathe to say it (everyone with a camera phone tends to harp on about it), I am an amateur photographer and can find my way around many DSLR cameras. I have taught myself a limited amount of Photoshop and find great pleasure in teaching myself new ways to randomly edit images. Taking pictures is one of my favourite hobbies and I'd be more than willing to talk about it with anyone who cares to listen. Photography is a passion of mine!

Music is another important part of my life. I love music of all genres. I can honestly say I own an album of pretty much every major genre you can list; Classical to Trip-Hop; Nerdcore to 80s Pop; Orchestral Metal to Country. I lean towards Indie and Rock music most of the time, but am always willing to listen to anything that catches my attention. If there's one thing I'm picky about it is how my music is set-up, especially on my PC! (An idea of this can be seen here.)

As a result of this, I often attend various gigs and festivals. I won't dismiss a band for selling out, nor will it bother me if nobody has heard of them. I've seen many bands live. Muse, Panic! At The Disco, My Chemical Romance, Goldfinger, Tool, Guns'n'Roses, Journey, Zebrahead, We Are Scientists, Hellogoodbye, Kanye West, The Prodigy, Pendulum and many, many more. I try to visit at least one festival every year, with my favourite being Download. I love camping and almost enjoy the atmosphere around the camp as much as seeing my favourite bands!

As much as I may seem like the kind of person who loves to stay indoors (and don't get me wrong, I love sitting at home whilst watching movies, eating junk food and chilling out)... I am pretty adventurous. I love travelling, probably as a result of my father being a pilot and taking me places when I was younger. I like going for bike rides, walking through forests and generally exploring the local areas. I find it pointless driving somewhere if I can reasonably walk the distance.

Lately, I have become increasingly interested in the human mind, body language, psychology and the meaning behind symbols. I enjoy reading self-help books, and have experimented with a number of them to see how effective they can be. This has had a huge impact on my life in recent times, and I've become a much better conversationalist with a lot more confidence.

Lastly, let me just mention that I am not really a sports kind of guy. Whilst I do enjoy playing football (of the English variety) and other sports, I don't often see the point in watching them on tv. I'll occasionally watch a major event, but other than that... it's just not for me. I'd much rather sit down and watch a musical, something I'm very fond of. Everything from Hairspray to Little Shop of Horrors; Grease to The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I love musicals!

If you care to know more, just ask. Don't forget to tell me a little bit about yourself too.

What I’m doing with my life
Living it!

To elaborate on that, I am working at B&Q (something I did when I was younger for 5 years) and I love it. People may knock it, but I've worked as a croupier, sommelier, and a studio photographer... and not one of those jobs was as enjoyable. I was working in telesales for a bit, because apparently I'm good at it... but it is soul-crushing work and I'm rather fond on keeping my soul uncrushed!

I can be found doing all sorts of oddjobs, but am looking for a more permanent position so I may settle into a better routine and earn more money so I may continue travelling.

I am also looking for a place to live in Greenwich. I am hoping to find a reasonable priced place soon, because living here is the greatest thing ever.

I’m really good at
...those things at which I am rather good.

Apparently, I'm pretty good at not ending sentences with prepositions. Those are not words you should end sentences with.

Oh shi-...

I am pretty good at telling when someone isn't in a good mood, even if they appear to be happy. This also applies online, as I'm good at noticing the small details in the way somebody types. This probably explains why I tend to be pretty good at Poker. :)

The first things people usually notice about me
...is that I'm human. Barely. Barely presentable at least. Maybe. It's either that or my 3 heads.

I am the three-headed monkey that Guybrush Threepwood often sees.

MI reference!

Realistically, they probably notice that my hair is most likely scruffy, and I'm probably doing something silly, like cracking jokes, singing silly songs and generally just acting a few years younger than I really am. This is something my father was really rather good at, and something I believe that everyone should strive to act on occasion. You'll feel much better for it... trust me!

Recently, the first thing everyone notices about me (especially people in the street who stop me to talk about it, point and/or comment on it briefly) is that I almost always wear odd shoes.

Most commonly, I'll be wearing one red shoe, and one blue shoe (see my 2nd photo)... but I also have pink, green, yellow, orange, white, black and purple. :D

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Does this have to cover all 4 topics in one?

My favourite book, which has become a movie... with an awesome soundtrack... and... I... can... eat it?

Well I suppose Harry Potter was a pretty good series of books, and the movies aren't half-bad. The musical score is more than adequate and have you tried those every-flavour jelly beans? Grass? YUM!

To be quite honest, there is far too much to list and I am struggling to narrow it down. I already linked to a rather extensive list of the music I listen to because depending on my mood, it will vary wildly. However, in the interests of those who have asked me to elaborate:

Books:
I will read pretty much anything, but my all time favourite would be the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. That includes the prequel, Debt of Bones.

I have just finished reading, "PERSUASION: The art of influencing people." by James Borg. I love books that deal with psychology in any way. If this profile, or any messages I may send (sometimes it takes me a while because I can be quite shy at first!) persuade you to message me, then consider the book a success. If not, avoid it... it clearly has its facts wrong!

Movies:
Fight Club, Moulin Rouge, Little Shop Of Horrors, Overboard, Ghost, Dirty Dancing, Hairspray, Donnie Darko, Kill Bill, Emperor's New Groove, The Hangover, Bugsy Malone, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Get Him To The Greek, and oh so many more. If it's a musical, you can guarantee I'll enjoy it.

Music:
According to my Last.FM, I seem to favour The Beatles, Tenacious D, Regina Spektor, Muse, Foo Fighters, Eagles, Stone Sour, Mindless Self Indulgence and a rather vague "Disney". That's probably mostly made up of "Kiss The Girl" and a few Jungle Book song. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Sufjan Stevens.

I absolutely LOVE the song "Fuck You" by Cee-Lo Green, and have been greatly enjoying 3OH!3's new album.

I also enjoy mashup music, especially when it's done really well. United States of Pop 2009 (which you can find easily on YouTube is a prime example).

Food:
Although I can be picky with my food, I am always willing to try something new. I won't eat pineapple on pizza, sultanas, raisins, currants, mushrooms, olives, nor fatty meat. My steak must be at the very least well done, but I've found some places still leave my steak bleeding on my plate unless I ask for it cremated.

I can't stand it when food gets soggy, so I prefer dressing on the side of salads so I may dip them. I prefer to add milk first to cereal like Weetabix, then add the Weetabix... flip it immediately and then eat it whilst still crunchy.

Ever since I was a child, I can't eat fish. Yes, that includes tuna and salmon. It even includes crab and lobster. I have no idea why, as the taste is not unappealing to me. However, the very thought of eating it makes me nauseated.

I love Tiramisu, Shepherd's Pie, almost anything with pasta... but especially Spaghetti Bolognese, Apple Crumble and almost burnt, hot buttered toast. I don't understand these heathens who just lightly warm their bread and dare to call it toast!

TV Shows:
Ok, so they don't ask for this... but I feel it important to add.
Flight of the Conchords, The Mighty Boosh, Glee, Better Off Ted, League of Gentlemen, Black Books, Lost, How I Met Your Mother, 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory and Coupling to name a very small selection.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
...what I could do if I had laser pointers instead of fingers. Ok, I do not spend much time thinking about this at all... but I bet you are now.

Actually, I am too... I would use it to confuse small children, and then STEAL THEIR LOLLIES.

I also wonder if I'd perhaps get more messages if I took my profile a little more seriously...

Nahhh.

On a typical Friday night I am
...doing whatever takes my fancy on that particular night. It's rare I have any concrete plans that I must stick to, so often it's something different every week. I am rather keen on going down to The Mitre in Greenwich, and listening to whatever live bands they have playing that night whilst drinking a £3 pint of glorious, glorious beer.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
...I once put toilet roll tubes on my cat. It was a Jimmy Carr moment of watching her walk like a robot, and unfortunately I had no Smarties tubes to hand.

She seemed to enjoy it.

I once open-mouth kissed a hippo. I say kissed, it swallowed me whole. I survived living off its stomach contents for a few days, before it caught a hippo variant of the common cold. I was forcefully ejected from its stomach via a process known as "throwing the fuck up"... and I survived. I have seen things that can NEVER be unseen.

Other than that, the most private thing I'll admit on a public profile is that I am a member of a dating site... and that is probably already common knowledge to you unless you have a chronic form of Alzheimers and have forgotten this isn't a daily news feed. I'm sorry that the story about the hippo didn't turn out to just be light-hearted news. :(

OK fine. I once read Twilight and actually enjoyed it. :S I still refuse to watch the movies, though. I would like to clarify that it was ONLY the first book, and whilst I agree the writing is atrocious, I was constantly lured into reading "just one more chapter".

I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 19-28
  • Near me
  • For new friends, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
...you are physically able to type with your hands, else I wouldn't bother. I wouldn't like to say I'm worth 25 minutes of hitting the keyboard sporadically with your nose, tongue or other appendages that might be able to (semi-)accurately push in keys.

...you enjoy playful teasing, dark humour and like learning and discovering new things.

If you like what you read, and/or what you see... feel free to message.

I'm open to become friends with almost anyone, whether or not we're hugely compatible. Message me for conversation, debate, flirting or whatever. Although it states I am looking for casual encounters, it's more that I'm open to the idea of them. I'd much rather look for someone I can spend a great deal of time with. :)
