My self-summary
I was born in Jersey -- and if you don't know at least one Bruce Springsteen song, I don't want to know you. Spent my undergrad years in Boston, where I honed my (ever-so-slightly yet charmingly OCD) skill of organizing day planners. Seriously, I have a Black Belt in planning. Now I spend my time plotting how I'm going to take over the world one article at a time. I'm tone deaf, but I love music and I'll go to any show I'm invited to (I prefer when there's at least one guitar involved). I love to travel, but work isn't always accommodating when it comes to international adventures, so I spend my off time trying to find new places to explore in the city, camera usually in hand.
What I’m doing with my life
By day: magazine writer/editor.
By night: figuring out how to get to a point where I can just travel the world for fun.
I’m really good at
Writing. Photography—I can do wonders with an Instagram filter and an SLR camera. Organizing. Being a friend. Traveling—I have a knack for choosing slightly dangerous destinations (ie. Egypt two months post-revolution, or Iceland post-volcanic eruption). Remembering lyrics from obscure emo songs in the early 2000s, but forgetting every quote from every classic movie ever. I can brew a pretty legit IPA, and I am awesome at the NY Mag crossword puzzles (not so great at the ones on the NYT...).
The first things people usually notice about me
That I say it like it is. (Or my eyes.)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Perks of Being A Wallflower, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Everyone Loves You When You're Dead, Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, anything Klosterman, Game of Thrones and Harry Potter (yes, seriously).

Music: Bruce Springsteen, Brand New, The Gaslight Anthem, Mumford and Sons, the Black Keys...but it changes constantly.

TV: Lost, Fringe, True Blood, Game of Thrones, The Tudors, Mad Men (plus lots of cheesy CW shows that I say are just for work but...they're not).

Movies: I'll see anything, but I have a soft spot for anything apocalyptic.

Food: I'm pretty sure I could survive on just pizza, but I'm down to try any NYC restaurant once (especially Italian).
The six things I could never do without
Music. My friends. My SLR camera. My iPhone (hey, it's got everything). My passport. My imagination.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what comes next (I know, that's a cliched answer, but it's true -- I like certainty). And ridiculous aspects of pop culture (but at least I get paid for that).
On a typical Friday night I am
Hoping my night is anything but typical.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a weird fear of revolving doors.
