My self-summary
Emotionally mature, determined and bubbly body, occasionally inhabited by a 13 year old maverick boy, seeks equally determined girl with generous amounts of patience to help the path of life be more fun to tread. I know it sounds like a hell of a quest, but hey at the very least, meeting like-minded people from across the global village in the process would certainly be a definite plus from this kind of experiment. And that isn't that hard, is it?

Would the line "must love dogs" make it even more difficult? Oh, I don't care.
What I’m doing with my life
Life's most important asset is time. So I'm doing my best to balance myself between my professional responsibilities and the things I really like to do. Which in fact are way more important than my daytime job :)
I’m really good at
making things happen
The first things people usually notice about me
Hopefully not the same I notice when I get up in the morning and have a first look in the mirror :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Recently I acquired a keen interest in the science of morality, so i'm devouring anything penned by Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins. Also being a budding political activist against neo-soviet Russia, Lilia Shevtsova and Anna Politkovskaya's books have been on my list for quite a while. Trying to understand Bulgakov translated to a foreign language and basking on short poems by Brodsky and Akhmatova.

Also been a long time fan of the evolutionary psychologist Geoffrey Miller. How well he cuts to the chase...

Bedside reading now is the memoirs of General Tadeusz Bór-Komorowski. it's amazing how it hasn't yet made its way into a Hollywood blockbuster. It's a page turner. (update) Finished. Now on to Tadeusz Kosciuszko and the Age of Revolution, by Alex Storozynski. Yeah, that Polish guy.

Movies...hmm...too long a list to state but I would place the Shawshank Redemption, American History X, Twelve Monkeys and Dr. Strangelove near the top. Daybreakers, Fargo, The Hurt Locker and The Game rank also high on my list of all-time favorites.

Have become a fan of political talk shows from the likes of Bill Maher and Stephen Colbert. I wish we had more serious comedians like those two (sigh) instead of the pathetic copycats that pollute our TV screens.

Keith Olbermann anyone?

music: pretty eclectic mix ranging from impressionism to drum'n'bass & jungle: Vikter Duplaix, Vanessa Daou, Uberzone, Tomatito, Steely Dan, Star You Star Me, Shur-I-Kan, Seiji, Seal, Rosa Passos, The Politik, Pat Metheny Group, Nitin Sawhney, Michael Franks, Massive Attack, Micatone, London Elektricity, Joni Mitchell, John Patitucci, Jill Scott, Jazzanova, Jane Monheit, Ivana Santilli, Ivan Lins, Hussein El Masry, Gino Vannelli, Fred Hersch, Electric Conversation, Dave Matthews Band, Clara Hill, Cassandra Wilson, Bioground, Bebel Gilberto, Beanfield, Atjazz, Ananda Project, Akufen, 4hero, Brotherly, Joseph-Maurice Ravel, Armando Anthony "Chick" Corea, Lyle Mays, P'taah and not necessarily in this order.

And now sunk in envy about the newly-found genius of a young pianist originally from Kyrgizstan, called Eldar Djangirov. He's so good it hurts. Damn. Wish I could play like him.

oh and I'm falling madly in love with Gretchen Parlato. No one out there like her...
