*update* I'm currently dating a wonderful man and I'm super happy with him, but totally still interested in making new friends

I'm a very open person. I love to have fun, but I also have a serious side. I don't really fit any stereotypes and I tend to have friends in lots of different groups; with varying interests.

I was in the drumline in high school and I love band.

I like to sing and play flute .

I love to laugh .

I'm also a huge activist. I am a liberal, tree-hugging, semi-socialist who hates politics, but cannot stand not being involved and engaged with the world around me.

Please don't message me if you're religious. I'm really happy to be accepting of all religions, but as a rule I don't date anyone who identifies with one.

I like to be able to have intelligent conversations, but I also like to just relax and enjoy/appreciate life.

I'm a junior at the University of Rochester (from Columbus, Ohio). I'm majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Spanish .

This past summer I worked for The Fund for the Public Interest on campaign for Environment Ohio and Ohio PIRG. It was basically the best summer job ever.

Getting people to open up. I ask lots of questions because I'm genuinely interested in people.

I like to pretend that I can write poetry sometimes:

I wake, shivering, but happy,
nothing boring, nothing usual,
nothing ordinary today.
My feet meet the cold floor,
my eyes blink. I stare.
Light streams in the window,
wraps itself around me,
a firm, gentle grip.
Inviting with its warmth,
it promises in cooing whispers,
Today will be different,
not comparable is yesterday,
Changed, will be tomorrow,
All moments bring adventure,
Each morning holds a joy.
A deep breath, a cold shower,
A new day.

I can talk a lot or I can be really quiet. My personality often depends on my mood. In general though I am very open with everyone (even people I don't really know).

I get along with people of all age groups and prefer to be around older people. However, I have this side of me that will never grow up... I like laughing and not taking life too seriously.

My favorite shows are House and Vampire Diaries . I also used to watch Star Trek a lot and I love Comedy Central .

I like pretty much everything (books, music, and food)

I don't really have typical Friday nights. I'm usually up for anything (even in that means doing very little and enjoying it).

I have pretty strange sleep habits. I love nighttime, but I'm so busy with school and other activities that I can't get away with sleeping in too much. So I nap when I can and stay up until all hours of the night.

During the day the sun blocks our view of the universe and keeps us concentrated on that which is important to our human existence... only at night are we are free to dance and dream among the stars.

You consider yourself a smart , kind, deep, and serious person who loves to joke around and make people laugh. That's my favorite kind of friend.
