My self-summary
yikes. okay, i can summarize myself. sure. i'm a dreamer. i base my life on ideas rather than expectations. i never take anything too seriously and my friends all think i'm a bit bizarre. i have a daughter, who is outrageously socially gifted. i have been told i was born at the wrong time; that i should have been a flower child, but i disagree. while i love hippie culture, i'm also part geek, part punk, part goth. i left most of my friends back in kentucky, but have met some wonderful people out here in the cowboy state. i'm not an athlete, but i love to go adventuring, whether it be a road trip across country or a day long hike. i like to do things outside my comfort zone. i love nerds and have been seen fighting with foam weapons, playing dungeons and dragons, and reading obscure and esoteric literature.

I am fiercely unique, open minded, and dorktastic

What I’m doing with my life
i don't usually go by what people do, as much as *how*they do it. as for myself, i'm not traditionally successful. i work in a book store, i'm a shiftless dreamer and pride myself on being able to sustain my small family on what i have earned and created, rather than selling my time to some corporation to earn excessive amounts of money for stuff i don't need. i have lifetime goals; i want to travel and see more of the world, i want to raise my kid to be part of the solution, and i want to be able to help as many people as i can. i figure what happens happens though. i just do the best i can when i can and see where life leads me.

I’m really good at
not a lot. kind of a jill of all skills, mistress of none. i like writing, but don't do it enough. well, i think i do mighty fine at being original. critical thinking? i dabble at quite a few things, but none i would put into the category *good* at.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
books: i love vonnegut, dostoevsky, and murakami. those are my current kicks. i think les miserables by victor hugo is the greatest and most memorable story ever told. i also read quite a bit of children's literature and will read pretty much any print set in front of me: shampoo bottles (dr. bronner's is a heck of a read), food packages, historic markers, etc.

movies: i love wacky, out there movies. i like movies that make you think, whether it's pondering the universe or wondering how they got away with making a film like that. i <3 subtites, also. i also have a strong interest in queer cinema. random titles: tank girl, rhps, hedwig, shortbus, sunshine, anything film movement, gummo, terror of tiny town, anything troma, little big man, velvet goldmine, most any musical, harold and maude.

music: ha! i love all types, but swing on the fast, subversive side of the spectrum usually. i love live music, especially if it's free and there's a bonfire involved. musicians that no longer play around bonfires that i like? dead kennedys, john lennon, mary prankster, gg allin, rufus wainwright, lou reed, cat stevens, bob dylan, nofx, muddy waters, beastie boys, decemberists, dresden dolls, bikini kill, l7, etta james, johnny cash, etc., etc.

food.....give me punjabi or give me death. i love trying new things, but most of the time keep with the staples of rice and beans. i love sushi and could probably eat nothing but for a very long time. i like soul food, but don't eat as much meat as i used to (but more than i did when i moved to wyoming 2 years ago). i'm not too concerned about keeping my girlish figure, so as long as i still have energy to adventure, i will partake in all things rich and sinful.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
what divides people: culture, race, gender-identity, sexual orientation, political polarities, and religion and spiritualism. i just wish we could find more common ground and stop thinking so boxed in.

On a typical Friday night I am
at the library for a book discussion or a free film movement movie or at a live music show at the local coffee house. either that or hiding in my room reading or watching a movie.

  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
you find what i say interesting or intriguing and can intrigue me as well. or if you want to go adventuring. i'm not looking to get married nor for a hook up for sex. i just thought this might be fun. it's hard making connections when you're in the middle of nowhere.
