My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Uhhhhhhh, East Austin former workaholic CPA and dutifully deluded husband seeks fresh start. Have just transcended dark period of marriage implosion, but that sort of recent pain and crippling self-doubt nicely counterbalances historic pattern of coming on too strong. I like vinyl records, my crazy yard, and public speaking. Recently learned how to play King of the Road on guitar. Currently trying to paint this cool old weathered fence post to look like tribal art. And I work as a Senior Auditor for the state. This description may not hold together as a coherent narrative, but it is truthful.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
There is not enough data storage on earth for my answer to this question.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Accounting and finance type jobs, oral sex and, apparently, living in denial.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My pleasant and soothing voice.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Like everyone else, I like the Pixies, Fitz and The Tantrums, Sinatra, Eartha Kitt, Mumford & Sons, Johnny Cash, Doug Sahm, Hanks I and III, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Booker T and The MG's, The Rolling Stones, The Walking Dead, Arrested Development, The Wire, Kurasawa, Peckinpah, Malick, Coens, Jim Thompson, Iceberg Slim, Eduardo Galeano, Cormac McCarthy, artisanal baking, avocados, and breakfast tacos.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Food, air, water, clothing, shelter, and, probably, companionship. Is this a trick question?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Honestly? I spend a lot of time thinking about relationships in the abstract, including whether they are worth pursuing. Most of the meaningful relationships I've had were entirely serendipitous, and had nothing to do with seeking them, and maybe everyone's experience is just that, hence the almost universal ambivalence about dating sites.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Now that I am working in my field again, I once more confront the paradox that is "Friday." It is both the day during which one is likely most worn out - especially after that ill-considered Thursday evening activity, and also the first evening of the weekend, meaning one can sleep in the following morning. My state of mind on Friday is perhaps most analogous to a monkey that will not let go of a banana despite being in a trap. I want to blow off some steam, but sometimes I'm just not that steamy. But, hey, grabbing a couple drinks? Totally.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Existential crisis is more or less my normal state.
