My Self-Summary

My name is Clark. I am currently a 4th year student at UCLA. I am studying History with an emphasis on Middle Eastern studies. I have a fairly quiet personality, but like to take advantage of a wide variety of social settings from study groups to clubs in Hollywood. I love sports; both participating in and watching all kinds of sports, but soccer is my favorite. I love music. I listen to a wide variety of musical genres and also play several different instruments. I am currently a member of a fraternity, and my brothers are some of my closest friends. I love to lead a spontaneous lifestyle without going too crazy, or straying too far from my personal goals.

What I’m doing with my life

I will be completing a History degree from UCLA in June 2010. After I graduate, I plan to move back to northern California to find some peace and quiet away from the big city. I am interested in sound editing and other musical pursuits involving technology, but am open to a wide variety of fields and occupations.

I’m really good at

Sports and fitness are two of my main hobbies. This includes just about any exercise I can get my hands on from soccer and basketball to bicycling, yoga, and the occasional weight lifting. I am also good at writing poetry and even some music. I play trumpet, french horn, and drums, all of which I love. My computer skills are considerably above average, and I direct a lot of my attention to picture and sound editing.

The first things people usually notice about me

My fashion style does not usually fit into a specific category. I like to look nice, but don't like to spend a lot of money on clothing just to get the latest style. I am a good listener and love to learn new things about other people. I'm not afraid to share my opinion and joke with a person, especially in a sarcastic manner.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

My favorite books include Ender's Game, Brave New World, Frankenstein, and lots of Stephen King novels. Basically anything that presents an alternate perspective on life. My favorite movies usually involve certain directors or lead actors including John Cleese, Alfred Hitchcock, M. Night Shyamalan, Quentin Tarantino, Simon Pegg, Vince Vaughan, or Jim Carrey, as well as movies such as The Departed, Boondock Saints, The Big Lebowski, and Gladiator. It would take me days to come up with a list of my favorite music, but I generally like anything that has a unique sound and focuses on the music rather than lyrics. I love any kind of spicy food: Mexican, Thai, Cajun, etc.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Perspectives, especially those of people who have come from an entirely different background than my own. My future, and the ways that I can help myself be successful and happy with my eventual career. Music, and other ways that I can be creative.

On a typical Friday night I am

With friends either at the bar, at a party, or at a show. Sometimes I will go to a movie, or other type of event, but usually not too far away so that I can get up for football games on Saturday.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

My family means the world to me, and even though I haven't always been the best son or brother, I would do anything to keep my family safe and happy.
