Seeing both sides of an issue -- even when I don't agree, I can usually manage to see how a rational person could hold an opposing view. I value nuance.

Being patient, caring, and supportive. Being someone people can confide in. I've been told I'd make a good teacher, but I'm much better one-on-one.

I think I'm reasonably creative -- I'm pretty good at my hobbies, and a halfway decent writer.

Books: I enjoy nearly any kind of book, but philosophy and fantasy in particular. This month (Jan 2010) I'm reading some of the books I got over the Chistmas holiday. Right at the moment, I'm letting myself be provoked into strong disagreement with Wiker's "10 books that screwed up the world".

Movies: I liked the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but my favorites are still The Princess Bride, LadyHawke, The Prestige, and Shakespeare In Love. Haven't seen anything real recently, but I may go see the new Twilight movie with a friend... more for the company than the movie. :)

Music: Various radio stations, for the most part. Mix, pop hits, country, a little oldies... I like music, but I'm not highly selective. I've discovered Pandora at work, so I use that a bit as well.

Food: I have eclectic tastes, although I try to avoid fried food. Sushi, Indian, Greek, Mexican, Italian, etc. If you want restaurant recommendations, I can probably make one... my friends used to joke that I was writing a Zagat guide.

Gaming with friends, working, or surfing the web. Occasionally going dancing. Depends on my mood and how tired I am from the preceding week. From ~10pm - midnight I'm often driving to Houston.
