My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am fairly obsessed with media and humans and what the two have to do with one another. Sometimes I make it or talk about it or make sure it's in focus or just consume and enjoy it. I also like adventures and live for things I'm not expecting.

I get a lot of satisfaction out of making something that wasn't there before - whether it's a movie, a dining room table or pie.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work in film, comedy and art, and love a good healthy mix of creative work, tech/physical problem solving, research, and flexing my bidness skills. Bonus points if they're all employed in the same project.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Having real conversations with a lot of different kinds of people, logging miles, general rough-and-tumbleness, fashioning things out of bubble gum and duct tape, open-mindedness (sometimes to a fault), adapting, taking pictures of windows?

Also I lived in Berlin for about five years and speak German like a CHAMP!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes in the middle of really intense conversations, when I'm throwing down some serious existential genius, I will be interrupted to be informed that my eyes are very blue.

This changes too much... I recently read War and Wine - a nonfiction book about French wine and WWII, All Involved, fiction, about the post Rodney King LA riots in the 90s, The Corrections, White Teeth, Paddle Your Own Canoe and Yes Please. My favorite book is probably The Inbearable Lightness of Being, but I'm not sure if I'm proud of that? Or if it's just a taste-based version of some self-destructive tendency.

As for movies, I am omniverous and ravenous and value breadth over depth I think. I'm a sucker for coming of age movies and female protagonists who could just as we'll be male. Docs are rad and I have infinite respect for those who make them in America. Nightcrawler is the best movie I've seen in a while IMO.

In practice I really just cherrypick from Mubi, recommendations made by enthusiastic drunk people, and whatever screeners show up in my mailbox.

Transparent is the coolest thing on TV. I watch all my tv on the Internet. Looking forward to the next installment of House of Cards fer sure.

I like music a lot. Weird thing to summarize? Melodic? Innovative? Generally anything in the "critical favorites" playlists on songza. Songza is rad for lazy people who like music a lot. Lately I've been playing a lot of sad Nina Simone/Jeff Buckley tear-jerkers on my Casio keyboard so that's on my mind at the moment. The performance is technically mediocre, but so many feels! My fans (aka my cat) are pretty into it though so whatever.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I'm pretty sure I could do without most things. I really like the Internet though. And sensory perception. So let's go with that. The five senses and the Internet.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to start a media revolution, make people laugh and think, make feminism fun for everyone, and be a role model for little girls someday. Also regretting not buying cookies and/or wine.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hopefully doing something new or engaged in a lengthy meandering conversation. Especially with strangers Chatting up strangers is my JAM.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have dreams of being a famous audiobook voice. The glory...
