My self-summary
(This is literally just a shot in the dark...I'm guessing there's maybe a 1/100,000 chance that I find someone on here that I'd go on a date with. I know I deserve someone extraordinary and won't settle for anything less.)

I went from being a super idealistic young politico to a manic grad student trapped in an epistemic (as well as existential) crisis to finally embracing the fact that I had become a workaholic, and if I were an animal I'd be a koala! Now I'm doing a little coasting after my quarter-life crisis, and I've figured a BUNCH of things out: namely, that they tell us to move fast ("quickly" if you wanna be a tard about it) but we're supposed to go slow.

I've accomplished a lot in my life and every day I'm working to improve myself. I'm very intellectual and have little tolerance for grown ass men (and women) who still act like they're in college. Don't get me wrong! I'm the life of the party:) I just know when it's time to have a glass of water instead of a round of shots. I've always been mature for my age and am looking for someone older than me who is pretty established, has an open heart and mind, and is a gentleman.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm trying to figure out how to be happy: I think that involves writing and feeling good.

What you really want to know: why am I here? It's hard to meet people when you move every 2yrs like I have been, especially people that I'm excited about. I'm highly intuitive when it comes to relationships, so I guess you can say I'm on the hunt for that *special chemistry.* If I don't find it, that's cool. I can rock it out on my own.
I’m really good at
listening, laughing, decorating, yoga, school, talking to strangers (I love to have long talks with my cab drivers), distilling the argument from a book after only reading about 1/8 of it (this is why I can't stand Ayn Rand...her books are too damn long to be about one small point), reading people

I'm not particularly good at: giving up, changing my mind (cause I worked SO hard to make it up in the first place), sports (never had the hand-eye coordination, "ex-tomboy" lol)
The first things people usually notice about me
How petite I am.
My laugh.
My friendliness, which comes with unexpected sarcasm/playfulness.
Many have said I have a calming presence and positive energy.
As one of my friends put it: I "get a lot of stranger attention" haha. I guess people like my face.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Too much to list, but the first ones that pop into my head:
Book: Invisible Man by Ellison
Movie: It's a Wonderful Life
Show: House of Cards!!
Music: Erykah Badu, Adele, Kanye, Stevie Wonder, I like songs more than I like artists
Food: Breakfast, Bananas with Peanut Butter, Cookies, Mediterranean, Mexican, Thai, Italian, Japanese. Burgers. I don't eat birds or rabbits.
The six things I could never do without
In no particular order :
- walks
- love (romantic or otherwise)
- time to read and write
- a periodic change of pace
- sunflower soap!
- chocolate (it warms the soul)
- a fuzzy companion (if you're not an animal person, then forget about it)
(And subtly breaking the rules...you didn't notice that was 7 things did you? ;) )
I spend a lot of time thinking about
...how to balance my needs and the needs of my community; i.e. how to be happy and be a valuable contribution to society
...outer space
...what life is [Figured that one out: it's magnificent!]
...imagining a different society [like what amendments I would add to the Constitution]
...being myself
...paradoxes and pendulums
On a typical Friday night I am
not realizing it's Friday
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a tattoo of a descending dove, which I drew, to represent the holy spirit--something I see as existing in every religion in one form or another and as a crucial guide (I'm very spiritual, raised Christian, not into organized religion).
I’m looking for
  • Straight guys only
  • Ages 27–38
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
Iff you've read my profile. (Also helps if you know that iff isn't a typo). You haven't misrepresented yourself in the least on your profile. I haven't.

You are *very well educated*, you're sexy, and you understand why it's hard for me to find someone to be my partner (read: MAN)
