I am adventurous, witty, and creative.
My Self-Summary
Independent, funny, always smiling. I love singing, cooking, and
finding humor in random situations. I've lived all over the world--
Israel, Kenya, DC, Baltimore and Western Mass. Sometimes it takes
me a while to get to know people, but I always think the effort is
worthwhile.
What I’m doing with my life
I am currently trying to cook my way through 1000 Indian Recipes
cookbook- I'm up to 135 (no I will not be blogging about it:). When
I am not pursuing culinary goals, I can be found in rabbinical
school preparing for a career as a rabbi in some sort of teaching
or chaplaincy setting. Basically this means I study a lot, take
classes, do various internships and meet lots of cool people
(religious and non) all over New York and beyond.
I’m really good at
random trivia (excellent at trivia bar nights)
cooking- (Indian, Vietnamese, Thai, Italian, Middle Eastern)
singing (also finding songs to fit almost any occasion)
procrastinating on school assignments
taking the wrong exit when riding the subway and ending up on the
wrong side of the street
The first things people usually notice about me
my big blue eyes
my sarcastic wit
my great singing voice
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Movies- The English Patient, Pride and Prejudice, The Name of the
Rose, Ace Ventura Pet Detective
Music- Allison Kraus, The Stanley Brothers, Ricky Skaggs, bluegrass
gospel, Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Opera, Choral music
Books- The Souls of Black Folk, The Poisonwood Bible, Grapes of
Wrath,The Phantom Tollbooth
Food- Where do I start? rice noodles, pasta, really fresh bread,
pastrami, pad see yew, roasted eggplant with tahini, Indian
desserts. ice cream, dark yeasty beer
The six things I could never do without
My passport

Google Calendar
Loose tea
Music
Sundays
I spend a lot of time thinking about
when i will next be overseas and how long I can extend my stay. I
also wonder about the state of the world, current events and the
role of religion in public life. My fantasies include living in a
place that has enough room for all my books, gets natural sunlight
and doesn't involve hiking up four flights of stairs :)
On a typical Friday night I am
Having Shabbat dinner with friends and family- oftentimes at my
apartment with lots of good food, conversation and company.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I am allergic to black hairy caterpillars
You should message me if
you can tell a good joke, see irony in the world, appreciate a good
ethnic foods section in a grocery store, read good books and are
moved by them
