I am ridiculous, contemplative, and sparkly - duh!.

My Self-Summary

I've been in rural Ireland for the last 9 months, and came home at the end of September to see my little bro get hitched. P-town is home, and I'm currently couch surfing like a pro until I get settled. I'm into riding my bike back and forth across the Willamette and in and out of the many hoods of Portland. I'm a traveler whenever possible, a reader, a fierce friend, a massage therapist, a lover of laughter, and I'm a nest-er. I enjoy a good glass of wine, riding my bike (especially through crunchy leaves when the weather turns crisp) I love to dance and yet don't do it nearly enough, mi espanol es fatale pero me gusta espanol mucho, prone to daydreaming, yet grounded. Also, pancakes.

What I’m doing with my life

I just finished up a stint as an aupair for two lovely girls in Ireland. It was an unexpected job opportunity that I couldn't ignore, and the last 9 months have been incredibly rewarding. I'm working to establish a private massage practice and looking for a position with a chiropractor or naturopathic clinic. I would like my future to include a flock of urban chickens, time with Mt. Tabor, and maybe a touch of romantic friendship.

I’m really good at

Making fun of myself, taking care of company, sleeping (seriously, I'm a gold medalist) wasting time on the internet, and a host of other things I'll leave you in suspense over.

The first things people usually notice about me

Good lord, I don't know, I don't usually ask. What do you notice?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

the short list of books would include Tregaron's daughter, Story of B, I'll Say She Does!, Pride and Prejudice, The God of Small Things, Me Talk Pretty One Day, A Wrinkle in Time, So Far From God, and I have no shame in admitting my love for H.P.

I haven't owned a T.V. for a decade, so I don't see a lot of previews, hence I don't see a lot of movies, but I will always love Coming to America, Amelie, Dracula, Tous le Matins du Monde, and all episodes of Firefly and True Blood.

Music wise, it's an eclectic mix, but here are a few names pulled randomly out of my itunes: Puccini, Sigur Ros, Air, Bebel Gilberto, Simian Mobile Disco, Sun Kill Moon, Tom Waits, Bjork, Sam Cooke, Cody Chestnut, John Lee Hooker, Mirah, The Notwist, and The Flaming Lips. I'm really all over the place.

I like food that was prepared with thought, especially if it's locally sourced and shared with good company. The only things I'm not wild about are olives and blue cheese. Otherwise I'm game.

The six things I could never do without

music, the elements, friendship, chocolate, books, and laughter.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What I'm going to do next. Though I do work hard at appreciating the moment to moderate success.

On a typical Friday night I am

Typical hasn't happened yet. I'm still getting used to life in the states and figuring out where in my suitcase I left my good socks.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

remains to be seen.

You should message me if

any of this sounds interesting and you might be up for an email or two and possibly a drink, round of scrabble, or a bike ride.
