My self-summary Propose an edit
I'm a New Englander. It says more about me than you might think. I
don't like fake people. I can be a bit geeky on certain subjects
(like beer or jazz). My friends are my family, and my siblings are
very good friends. I am rather picky about my music, and you'll
probably hate most of the bands I rave about. I won't hold it
against you :)
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
Right now, I'm in consulting. In the future, probably not
consulting. I like baseball statistics, maybe I'll get lucky and
land a job doing that! I also work in a running store part-time.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Board games.
Especially ones that rely mostly on either luck or spite. My tennis game isn't bad, and
I can hold my own at pool. I also play a mean jazz/blues trumpet.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
I am almost always in a good mood. I tell lots of jokes, keep the
people around me laughing, and laugh along with them. I smile a
lot, and keep good company.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
I enjoy fantasy
books. All of them. Some sci-fi is good, and I also like
non-fiction (modern history or biography). Nothing that strange in
my favorite movies list... Die Hard, Independence Day, The
Departed, Home Alone, Shawshank Redemption, Ninja Turtles, Point
Break, and all the Disney classics. And Miyazaki. As for music,
it's usually jazz,
metal, classical and rock.
Specifically, Nightwish, Flobots, Sonata Arctica, Rhapsody,
Youngblood Brass Band, Charles Mingus, Maynard Ferguson, Miles
Davis, Immortal Technique, Beethoven, Chicago, Blood Sweat &
Tears, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Weezer, Turisas, Dream Theater,
Savatage, Dvorak and Shostakovich. Kinda eclectic I guess. I love
foods I've never eaten before, usually ethnic stuff. Japanese,
Korean, Indian, Afghan, French, Greek, etc. Or food that I cook
myself on the stovetop (I add a dash of basil to pretty much
everything, makes me feeling like I'm "improvising")

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
Economics and
environmental policy. I find it astounding that those most in
charge of managing the nation's wealth have a very poor
understanding of finance. And those in charge of maintaining the
environment either have a categorical disinterest in its protection
or a fanatical dislike of technological progress. Oh and sports. Cause, you know, I'm
a guy.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
Hanging out with roommates, heading into the city, BoltBusing up to
NYC, watching movies, playing laser tag, bowling, jazz clubs, baseball games, or
otherwise keeping busy and having fun. I can be immature or mature, depending
on my mood.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I change the 32" waist label of all my jeans to a 31"
You should message me if Propose an edit
You are clean, swift, sharp, and dangerously classy. You should
have high standards and low expectations. Someone who can hold up
her end of the conversation. The topic doesn't matter... politics,
literature, music, movies, cereal, ladybugs, whatever.
