My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm pretty out and proud about my anarcha-feminism.(That usually shakes off a bunch of profile-perusers.)

It should be noted that I don't consider myself "bisexual", I identify as "queer". Shit, OKC, if you're going to make me label myself, at least let me choose the label. I also currently don't see a polyamorous option, so I settled on "open relationship".

I'm extremely social and amiable, but occasionally my sarcasm and dry humor fuck things up. I blame this on my parents, born and raised in Philly. I will go out of my way to make people laugh and smile, and if that means shamelessly mocking myself, I'm all for it.

If you can make me laugh, and can have a conversation about anything from Foucault's Panopticon to Delta Blues, we'll be best friends. If you can teach me new words, I'm sold. If you can use expert puns, euphemisms, innuendos and mind-tangling word-play, I'll love you forever. Appreciation for Georges Bataille and Otis Redding means appreciation for you. Interest in Continental and Post-Structuralist Theory, and Transgressive Literature, guarantees a response.

Nick Cave wore a necklace I gave him onstage. That's a life accomplishment.

No matter what anyone says I will never grow out of punk music. Let's go to a show.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Activism is a huge part of my life; I am always looking for more people to rally and protest and organize with me.

I receive my double BAs in English (concentration on subversive and minoritized literature and theory, and education) and Philosophy (concentration on Critical and Social Theory, and praxis). In the process of applying for a Masters in Social Work, focusing on restorative justice, harm reduction, community engagement, and social justice for at-risk youth.

I identify roughly as an anarcha-feminist and anarcho-syndicalist, so this shapes a lot of my approach to life and work.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening, making people laugh, saving awkward situations, finding something to talk about, complimenting people (sincerely), making an impression, galvanizing people, brain-washing.

I'm also really good at tripping while walking up stairs; I'm not entirely sure how...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My hair, probably.

I get complimented on my glasses a lot.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I will not list specifics, as I know that will subsume way more time than I have to give, and you have to exchange.

Music: BLUES (especially delta ((had the honor of seeing Buddy Guy in concert one summer, inexplicably brilliant)), Classic Rock, Punk Cabaret, '70's punk, some grunge, Classical (in particular the Russian composers), Opera, Cabaret music (encapsulating Kurt Weill, of course), Tom Waits is paramount to my auditory education, and Dr. John the Nightripper is supreme. I love New Orleans Jazz, as well. '80's, '90's and underground hip hop, World Music (I feel like such a douchebag saying that). If you believe that someone can't be a fan of The Smiths, Crass, and Nina Simone simultaneously, we were never meant to be friends. I cannot emphasize how much Otis Redding possesses my entire soul. Post-Punk still lingers on an almost-daily playlist for me. Anything Nick Cave is remotely associated with is something I listen to compulsively, so that means Crime and the City Solution, as well. Mark Lanegan is probably my musical obsession, and I've followed him around the country. I'm still waiting for Boots Riley (The Coup) to fall in love with me.

Movies: (Will keep this in genres for the formerly presented reasons) Dark Humor, Foreign, Comedy, Fantasy, Horror (not as much as before, but still mentionable), Independent, Documentaries, etc. I will pretty much watch anything if it sounds interesting and original enough. Gotta say that Jim Jarmusch never ceases to floor me. David Lynch is a reliable favorite. Cronenberg rarely disappoints. I've watched A Streetcar Named Desire at least 40 times.

Books: (This would literally take me forever, so I'll just pinpoint some of my favorite authors, and books if they are removed from them.) Neil Gaiman, Oscar Wilde, Hunter S. Thompson, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Chuck Palahniuk, Raymond Carver, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Kant, Friere, MICHEL FOUCAULT, Schopenhauer, AM Homes, W. S. Burroughs, Ginsberg, Straub, Toomer, Foster Wallace, CAMUS, Baldwin, Kafka, Hughes, Toni Morrison, Milan Kundera, Dostoevsky, Gogol, Nikolai Grozni, Sartre, Tolstoy, Chekov, Lacan, Kristeva, Bataille, Acker, Zizek, Ronell, Badiou, Baudrillard, Agamben, Jean Genet, Tom Stoppard, Nabokov, Bakunin, Kropotkin, Nick Cave, McCarthy, Bataille, Henry Miller (Tropic of Cancer <3), Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Barthes, Levinas, Beckett, Borges, Ballard, Kierkegaard, Aurelius, Nietzsche, Marquis de Sade, Baraka, Lord Byron, Shelley, Goldman, de Cleyre, Spivak, Bhabha, Achebe, Davis, TENNESSEE WILLIAMS, Hurston, Fanon, Lorde, Deleuze, Debord, Jameson, Gramsci, Zizek (for the lolz), Diogenes, etc.

Food: Let me start this with the confession that my Mother spent most of her formative professional years as a well-renown chef (with a specialty in pastry) in both Philadelphia and California; consequently, she has bestowed her knowledge, and her talent, unto me. I have a passion for cooking and baking, and enjoy most anything aside from seafood (it's a visceral loathing).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Herbal Sleep Aids, The people I love (see how I grouped that together? Parsimonious? No), a sense of purpose, my hands, a sense of humor, and my imagination.

Realistically, though, I could survive without them; consequently, this is more of a 'six things I don't want to do without' list.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I think too much.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I try to avoid the typical.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes my fear of failure is paralyzing.

I wish more women chose/messaged me.
