My self-summary
I am outgoing, love to travel, and love laughing at myself (I also tend to overuse emoticons when I text; it's true...).

I don't take myself too seriously — a fact I hope was alluded to by my profile name. :)

I'm comfortable with math and science, and work for a FinTech firm in the Financial District, but also love acting (acted in a student film in college), singing, reading, writing, and learning about different cultures.

I enjoy ballet, the opera, visiting museums, and watching theatre & musicals, but also enjoy working out, motorcycling, bungee-jumping, and scuba-diving (got my license in a Dolphin reef) as well. I'm also a voracious reader and audiobook listener.

As I'm sure you already know, it's difficult to paint a picture of oneself when confined to this little box, so please feel free to write or IM me. I promise I'm not as humorless as my pictures would make me seem. ;)
What I’m doing with my life
I spend the majority of my free time writing, or working on other side projects. The rest of the time I spend trying to get toight like a toiger.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I most recently enjoyed Clarissa Pinkola Estés' "Women Who Run With the Wolves." I love Baldwin ("Another Country" - pretty much everything he's written :)), and have recently enjoyed Madeline Miller's "The Song of Achilles," Steinbeck's "The Grapes of Wrath," (I prefer him to Hemingway and Faulkner :)), Maugham's "Of Human Bondage," (though I preferred "The Razor's Edge"), Capote's "Breakfast at Tiffany's," Zora Neale Hurston's "Their Eyes Were Watching God," and Aldous Huxley's "Those Barren Leaves," (Uccchh... I. Love. Huxley.)

I'm a bit picky about movies but of newer films I loved: Youth, Remote Area Medical, Tim's Vermeer, The Great Beauty, Blue Is The Warmest Color, The Sessions, A Single Man, True Grit, Love Actually, Blue Valentine, Waste Land, The September Issue, The Tree of Life, Miss Representation, After the Wedding, and The Artist (I tend to fast-forward through movies. It's bad.).

I'll try any type of food twice (first reaction never counts).

I used to listen to a lot of Indie/Electro Rock, I'm now really getting into EDM, which I'm trying to learn to compose. Also. I love Purity Ring.
The six things I could never do without
I like to stay in shape, and am a voracious reader.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Fictional stories I'd like to write. Gender. How we form our identities and how much of it is determined by our respective backgrounds (Kudos to Diaz's "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao").
On a typical Friday night I am
Grabbing drinks with friends, visiting museums, seeing plays or dance performances, going to Indierock concerts, in bed wondering where it all went wrong, dancing, or having some amazing wines/meats/cheese over conversation.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I appreciate fashion, have enjoyed taking ballet classes in the past, and sometimes do yoga (though I mostly lift now).

Also, sometimes, I can't even.
You should message me if
"Just. Do. It!" - Shia Labeouf

Or if you're the type of person who's up for checking out wine bars/dance/theatre/films/hole-in-the-walls/art events/fine dining/etc. in the city. I'd be happy to find a partner. :)
