I am bang!, zap!, and pow!.

My Self-Summary

Well, let's see. I grew up in Colorado, moved to NYC when I was 18 (just because), left to go to college in LA, lived there for about 8 years & then moved up to Santa Cruz for a while to get out of the crazy LA scene. I've finally settled in Santa Barbara & plan on staying here for a while, though there are so many cool places in Cali that I may end up somewhere else eventually. Maybe San Francisco next? I've definitely had a lot of interesting things happen in my life so far & I'm finally settling in to who I am & what I want.

What I’m doing with my life

I am working in marketing at a securities broker/dealer; just got a couple of securities licenses & I'm trying not to worry about my job with the economy the way it is. Just got a new camera & want to get more into photography. Trying to settle into Santa Barbara.

I’m really good at

I'm really bad at talking about what I'm really good at.

The first things people usually notice about me

I have no idea. What a weird question. Why would I know the answer to that? Unless it's something really striking who goes around asking what the first thing people notice about them is?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Too many books to mention... some of the ones I've read recently are Naked by David Sedaris, which I loved; Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close; The Brief Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao, by Junot Diaz. Stiff by Mary Roach (about cadavers). William Trevor is an amazing author - I'll read anything he writes.

Some of my favorite movies are The Professional, To Die For, Edward Scissorhands, Slumdog Millionaire, Napolean Dynamite & Alien.

I like mostly rock, indie, pop & some hip hop. Good house music too. Right now I am loving MGMT, Franz Ferdinand, Kings of Leon. The Stones are always amazing. Like Snoop, Common, Will.i.am, Mary J. Blige, sometimes Gwen & Fergie are fun to sing to & yes, I like a little Britney every now & then.

I like all kinds of different food & am very open-minded. Not a big fan of chinese though. Oh, I absolutely love cereal. How little kid of me, right?

The six things I could never do without

Family
True friends
Pets
Laughing
Good food
A comfortable bed

I spend a lot of time thinking about

everything. I overanalyze all the time which sometimes drives me crazy but that's just the way I am.

I guess this is as good a section as any to say that I am a fairly socially & environmentally conscious person. Not a nazi or anything but definitely aware & I would expect the person I am dating to be as well.

On a typical Friday night I am

Usually I'm just hanging out at home. I'm often tired from the work week & would rather go out on Saturday night. Sometimes I go out with friends but I'm more into hanging out at home, having dinner & watching a movie, or if it's been a long week, dinner & bed. I used to be a partier but I'm done with that.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I may or may not have gotten into a little bit of trouble before...
Oh, & I totally watch America's Funniest Home Videos.

You should message me if

If you are local, at least 28 but under 38 & think we might have some things in common. Oh, & I might as well put this out there now: I can maybe deal with it if you voted for McCain (if you had a really good reason), but it's an absolute deal-breaker if you liked Bush. :)
