I am easily amused, intelligent, and pretty cute.

My Self-Summary

I'm a low key gal who enjoys the company of people who like to have fun and can find that fun in whatever they are doing. I need to have people in my life who can challenge me and show me new things. Because of this, I have a very diverse group of people that I consider friends and I like spending a lot of time with them.

I really love the ocean and boating in the summer... I also enjoy a good campfire and like to get the fire pit going on cool fall nights. This leads me to my winter interests: I'm into beer and like to try new ones. I'm particularly into IPAs and pale ales... but I also drink miller lite like a champ, a beer snob I am not. Sometimes I try and find new winter pass times, but turns out I am not a big fan of the cold.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently working in higher ed administration, but am looking for a new job in the public health field (know anyone who wants to hire me?).

I spend time with my friends and family whenever possible.

I love to cook when I have the time. I like the whole process: picking a recipe, shopping for the ingredients, making the dish, and then, of course, eating it. I especially like to cook for big groups of people and make hugely ambitious menus when the holidays roll around.

I have been relishing in all sorts of fall activities-- apple picking, the Topsfield fair, exploring outdoors, pumpkin carving, but am definitely looking forward to packing more in before the snow is upon us.

I have a serious love affair with dive bars. Speaking of which... you know the computer game at dive bars with the two naked ladies and you have to find the differences? Not to toot my own horn, but I'm pretty awesome at it.

I’m really good at

-making the best of less than ideal situations

-memorizing things and taking tests

-eating ice cream and not getting a cold headache

-diffusing crappy moods in my friends and family

-being patient

-cleaning my house thoroughly

-finding stupid humor absolutely hilarious

-being extremely polite

-making fantastic coffee and espresso beverages... Holler at your barista.

The first things people usually notice about me

Looks wise probably my eyes and/or smile.

I'm approachable and friendly, but can be highly sarcastic, so watch yo' self because I can be offensive.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Coming of Age in Mississippi, The Red Tent, In Her Shoes, Zorro, Love, and Elmore Leonard is always fun

Movies: Anchorman, Super Troopers, Superbad, Almost Famous, The Wackness, The Count of Monte Cristo, Juno, Grosse Point Blank, Billy Madison, Braveheart, In Bruges, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Wayne's World, Bottleshock, The Breakfast Club, Love actually

TV: Californication, Weeds, Entourage, True Blood, Nurse Jackie, How I Met Your Mother, 30 Rock, So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef, Tyler's Ultimate, House, Real Housewives of (anywhere)

Music: I enjoy most music, but I don't get down with country. I am particularly fond of hip hop and R&B/Soul.

Food: I like most foods and I love to try new ones. I do not, however, enjoy watermelon or olives.

The six things I could never do without

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Why "your face" is the greatest insult/comeback of all time. Do not be surprised if, at some point, I challenge your countenance.

I spend a lot of time thinking about why most people aren't nicer and more tolerant toward each other. I like to be polite, thoughtful, and open and I like the company I keep to have the same inclination.

On a typical Friday night I am

Getting into some shenanigans as soon as work is done. This could include, but shall never be limited to: getting some classy after-work dinner and drinks, cooking for friends and drinking wine, or hitting up a fantastic Somerville or North Shore area shady bar.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I like Britney Spears and Lady Gaga, ok? Whatever, leave me alone.

I also think sushi and The Office are overrated.

You should message me if

You are smart and fun.*

You know all of the words to any/all of the following songs: The Humpty Dance, Funky Cold Medina, Ice Ice Baby, Baby got Back, Parents Just Don't Understand

You also love Ron Burgundy and/or think Dorothy Mantooth is a saint.

You have something to say and score low on the creep-scale.

* it apparently needs to be stated that being smart and fun should NOT include the following: having a mullet, being rude to people, having a glamor shot as a profile pic, wearing jean shorts and/or Crocs, being intolerant of peoples' differences, or having a general lameness about you.
