I am quirky, musical, and strong.

My Self-Summary

What to write on these things...
I'm a pagan, I pick and choose my own path from different styles of religion. Right now, I'm leaning towards the ancient Greek pantheon and the Shamanistic energy.
I have an interesting sense of humour (and a British accent, even in writing) that not everyone gets.
I was raised bilingually, hence my fluency in Dutch as well as English.
I enjoy reading, writing, judo, weight lifting, listening to music, making music (I play the guitar, drums and all sorts of other percussion instruments), dancing (bal folk mostly) watching series (but I have no TV) and taking care of my Bonsai-in-training.
Now in Dutch
Tja. Nederlands. Moet dat? Blijkbaar...

Ik ben mezelf. Ik ben een paganist, tweetalig, heb een interessant gevoel voor humor, heb veel hobby's waaronder muziek in al zijn vormen, judo, dansen en geschreven taal.

What I’m doing with my life

I am a med student, which basically means I'm everbody's slave and an all-around spunge for soaking up medically-related info.
I'm also the president of our judo club (looks good on an application for admission into the programme for Orthopaedics...).

I’m really good at

A lot of stuff. I'm good at keeping time and rhythm on anything rhytmical, playing the guitar and carrying a tune when I'm singing. I'm not bad at judo and I'm pretty strong as well. Also, I have 'golden hands': both for massage and... other pursuits ;-P
Now in Dutch
Een heleboel. Ik ben goed in muziek maken (gitaar, drums/slagwerk en zingen), judo, massage en andere dingen met mijn handen...

The first things people usually notice about me

It used to be my hair, until I shaved off what used to be a mohawk. Now, probably, still my hair because it's short and spiky and not really what you would expect a woman's hair to be :-D
Now in Dutch
Mijn haar. Was vroeger een hanenkam, is nu een streep heel lang haar met daaromheen een tot 9mm afgeschoren vachtje.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Got a minute?
Books: Kushiel's series by Jaqueline Carey. The color purple by Alice Walker. 1984 by George Orwell. The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. 400 graden in de schaduw by Tais Teng. Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. Anything by Robin Hobb.

Movies: Pirates of the Caribbean. A Knight's Tale. Sister Act. Tipping the Velvet (technically a miniseries, but it counts!). GI Jane. Tank Girl. Coyote Ugly. Anything by Tim Burton and/or Johnny Depp (specifically: Sweeney Todd, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas). Better than Chocolate.

Music: Got another minute? My tastes are... eclectic. I love Omnia, Faun, Valravn, Lebocha, the Gonnagles, Nightwish, After Forever, Autumn, P!nk, Rhapsody of Fire, Blind Guardian, Hammerfall, Combichrist, Dream Theatre, Welle:Erdball, Rob Zombie... And Many More. Folk, classic rock, hardrock, metal, electronic and even some pop.

Food: Lasagna, veggie stir fry, fish! (especially salmon), pizza, peas, beef, ostrich, deer, biltong (dried meat - americans call it jerky), cream soda (biltong&cream soda=ideal lunch when in South Africa), mountain dew (survived on a steady diet of that in America)

The six things I could never do without

MY LAPTOP! (with its internet connection intact)
food
judo
my ability to understand and produce language
my sister
music

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Life. What does it mean to be alive, what is the meaning of life and why the bleedin' hell are we here in the first place? Is there life after death? Reincarnation? Some kind of paradise? Do we cease to exist?
Also, higher powers. Is there something more? If so (which I believe), is it One God (no, I don't think so) or are there many? (yes.) But are the many just aspects of one greater, all-pervading energy? (mayhap. I tend to think so)
Or, you know, just random things. I sometimes sit for aeons just thinking. (Usually it only stops after someone comes up to me and asks me what I'm thinking. Seriously? I was thinking! You yanked me out of a perfectly good train of thought!)

On a typical Friday night I am

At my parents' house just relaxing.
Saturday, however... Dancing, hanging with friends, parties, you name it! Well, either that or hanging at home immersed in a book.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Nothing. Ask, and you may recieve an answer...

You should message me if

You've read all this and haven't fallen asleep yet.
You think I might like you, or vice versa.
You'd like to get to know me better...
