Despite how I was raised, I will talk to strangers (unless they are plugged in and have a perma-scowl), although I tend to go deep in conversation and connections with the few rather than superficial connections with the many. Having new experiences and exploring our world and how we interact (or don’t – thanks a lot, Facebook).
It’s important for me to be active to a) compensate for sitting at a desk all day and b) disengage my brain. I enjoy golfing (usually), pickleball, snow skiing, traveling, sailing, to name a few. It would be great to find someone who shares in some of those interests. If there is something that you’re passionate about, I’m eager to try new things.
What I’m doing with my life
I love this section! It is one of the things that endears OKC to me, because it helps keep me on track, especially reading some of the inspiring things that so many others are doing. Like many other career-oriented professionals, I can get caught up in the day-to-day details and occasionally lose sight of the bigger picture, such as forgetting to call that friend I’ve been meaning to contact, or even take time to re-examine my life. Balance is important to me.
Are you even reading this? Or did you skip right to the pictures? That's probably what I'd do if I thought the profile was getting too deep!
I’m really good at

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I prefer non-fiction, because truth is often stranger than
fiction. Current favorite is "The First American" by HW Brands.
Constantly reading 1-5 books at any given time with more in the
Movies: Searching for Bobby Fischer, Rounders, Fight Club,
Caddyshack. In other words, movies that make you think and/or have
Shows: Don't have any TV programming, so can't really claim I've
seen anything recently. However, Top Gear, Family Guy and South
Park were favs. Planet Earth is sublime and unsurpassable. Hulu and
YouTube are frequent stop -also, often find my way to a TED
Music: Not really sure what alternative means any more since it's
now mainstream, but current favorite is Death Cab for Cutie
whatever its genre.
Food: gluten-free by necessity, Mediterranean, almost any
restaurant in NYC, Thai, Mexican, Sushi

On a typical Friday night I am
Hard to say, because it depends on the week. You know how it is,
one week: seeing a show, another: out with friends, next week: at
home unwinding after a long week, then: on an amazing date (...with
you? See what I did there? :) )
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I admitted my glutenlessness. Sorry, that's all you're getting
until I know you better.
